Any vector experts out there? Few questions!

Hi guys

My first vector- in a plane now sold- was a doddle to set up. But I'm struggling with this one!

Flying wing
Brand new vector
Latest firmware
Been through the wizard

I have two issues

I can't seem to get the plane outside of stab mode?! Wizard works and in the software I can see my switches flicking between nothing, stab and rth. But I'm any switch position the elevons respond to the plane orientation. Any ideas?!

Second- when all the above is sorted- how can I get the autopilot to go into failsafe when I turn the tx off?

Have you gone through the rx wizard?  They should configure the mode switch and rth.  If you change anything on your radio, run through the wizard again to make sure the Vector knows which direction everything is going

Yup done that

As I said when viewing the vector through the software the none/2D/RTH all respond correctly to my inpits in the software. It's just when I boot the plane up normally she's always in stab mode and the switches don't change it :s

Is your TX set up as a regular 4Ch plane? (i.e. not set up as a flying wing in the model memory)

Have you set up a sub-mode switch? This might be overriding your normal mode switch.

I was rather hoping you would reply blue :)

Yes I have a sub mode too- but this also appears to be working correctly in the programme- but when mode and sub mode switches are down- there's no feature- yet she still stays in stab mode!

Does the plane respond to other inputs? ie do the aileron servos move when you move the sticks? Does the motor arm and throttle up?

Just a thought - you are pressing the 'apply' button in the wizard to save the settings into the Vector...
To get autopilot in failsafe, IIRC you need to go into the safety tab of the wizard, and set the mode and detect settings to 'RTH' and 'Mode Switch', then setup your RX to produce those switch outputs then it loses the TX signal.

Yes it otherwise responds normally. Wierd.

Yes I'm pressing apply :D It must be something obvious like that though?!

Ah right- so I need to configure the Tx in failsafe then. That should be easy enough!

You set the failsafe and how you want to enable it in the wizard, hence why I asked if you had done that..  If you've configured and reconfigured the vector it might be worth resetting it to default and starting again.  I had no end of trouble setting up my Talon to start with but I had used it in a previous model so had obviously selected an option I'd forgotten about
