Went to the field and got one decent flight in, wind was at 24mph on my wind speed anemometer.

I've quickly pieced together the main bits from iPhone and on board Mobius, iPhone parts are well out of focus for launch.

The wing was happy sitting above us on the landing, I had to put a slight bit more power on and some down elevator to bring it onto the patch.

The two 3300 4S lipos were down to 10% when I landed and only gave about a 10 minute flight, I was on between 3/4 and full throttle most of the time due to the strong wind.

This plane was rubbish on efficiency when I first flew it in 2012 on 3S so nothing changed there.

I've two 8000 4S Multistars so going to enlarge the battery slots in the wing to take these and give it another try tomorrow (weather permitting)
The 3300's are 350g each and the Multistars are 650g each but the wing is that big I don't think it will notice, just need to make sure the CG is right before flying.

I've also fitted the larger 8x6 props.

Paul, I'm selling my 16Ah LiPo if you want that... lighter than 2 x 8000mah ones for the same capacity. Just depends on how you've got the bays cut though.

Hi Chris, the wing has two lipo slots and the 8000's are same depth as the Turnigy 3300's just need to cut the slots a bit wider.


This thing initially reminded me of a canal boat plodding along when I had it on 3S, now it's on 4S it's more like an old American V8 gas guzzler.

It's certainly not my 'go to'plane just saw it on the top shelf in the garage (where it sticks out and has shaded the light since 2012) and ddecided to give it an upgrade with motors I had for a laugh.

After tomorrow it will be back on the top shelf again, might eventually strip the laminate off, cut out the centre section (which is 12" wide) and convert it into a smaller pusher wing.

Before I chop it I'll bring it over for a fly so you and Ian can see it flying and get some aerial shots  ;D
