Got bored today... had some depron lying around so made this...

not sure if I'll ever attempt to fly it... I've made the control surfaces on the V-Tail, and it'll be a piece of pie to put ailerons on the wings.

Just need a small enough motor (thinking miniquad motor and ESC), some micro servos and a compact FrSky receiver and it "should" be fine.

The wing is almost a KFm-2 airfoil, with a carbon spar I had spare hot-glued to it for strength (it's really rigid and light)

In the pictures the wing is just lightly tacked to the fuselage using hotglue... I plan on using skewers and rubber bands to keep it on, with supports on the underside of the wing itself to keep it perpendicular to the fuselage.

Will need a bit of nose weight, probably use the 800mah 3S LiPo I've got for my Hornet wing in it... with VTX and Cam up front, I imagine that should be enough nose weight.

I've used the Mini Talon's dimensions and scaled them down at a rate of 0.625. Seems like an odd scale, but the depron I had was 500mm along the long edge so used that for fuselage length and when I compared that to the length of my MT fuselage of 800mm that's how I calculated the scale (500/800=0.625)

:)"Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads." :)

BlueFlyer

Yeah, don't like it lol

Mine is more of a homage to the Mini Talon :)

I've decided to make this purely bank and yank, so the V-Tail will just be an elevator, with both surfaces hooked up to a single servo.

got bored again... this time I had to ask for special permission off my 9yr old daughter to use her sharpies...

So cool, Blue.
I love little scratch-builds like this.
Any one can build a Skywalker with Vector & GPS & RTH & OSD.
But a little scratch build for 20 quid hooning between the trees flat out, without a care in the world is much more fun  :P
Will put a new-years smile on ya face.
Nice one.
Note to self - must scratch-build a micro Drak...
;)

BlueFlyer

Thanks Dil

I think I've got enough foam left for a micro drak as well :)

Have you seen the Flitest mini sparrow?

Was going to post the same. I think it looks ace and it flies really well in the videos. Dare I say it, nicer than the Hornet........
Ey-up!

This didn't last long... it's in the bin now.

Sometimes you just have to trawl through all your junk in the garage and get rid of stuff that's clogging up the place, or is likely to distract you from the bigger more important projects.
