Todays test flight with the Venus Pro Micro camera backpack...The OSD is handy for monitoring the Lipo but it needs some radical adjustments to the Factory settings for sure.
A nice change doing some basic FPV without an AP....It was pretty breezy with little or no thermal activity, but this Glider flies well enough. A mates castoff model, a bit of TLC and some restoration and its my new favourite for some fun relaxing flying. I need some new 2200 Lipos though, these are well past it...

Lovely, nice to see some old school FPV - we need to bring it back!

Yep, nice relaxing vid there ET.
Looks like the backpack works well too.
Solder up a nice lightweight 3s Li ion for it , works great in my ASW ;)

Phoenix 2000 is fantastic value for the money.  I've had one for some years, covered the wings in ultra light glass tissue bonded with  Eze Kote water based resin. The resulting wing is a lot stiffer and immune to plant stems cutting the leading edge  and minor dings. The extra weight is negligible.  Set up with crow braking  really helps with restricted landing areas as well.

Brill vid - I just bought that exact same model too.
Not sure if to make it full FPV or put a removable pod on it so I can also fly LOS at the club.

Ya need a better OSD though! lol

Still flying up my own arse ....
And giving Bignose one up his..
Moister than an Oyster...........

Hi Guys,
Cheers.....yes, its old school FPV, really simple. The idea of the micro FPV pod is to keep it light and streamlined for Glider use. The Venus Pro is a cased micro camera and Im using a Matek VTX-HV with a tiny sleeve Dipole.
Two Club colleagues have some VERY high end Gliders worth around £2K each who have expressed an interest in a tiny backpack. This is for the occasions where they look down at their TXs and then look up and can't find their Gliders in the sky..an exciting moment....lol.
