I always used the PCM 1024 rx's tht Futaba made but the Corona ones are very good.
2.4 does seem the sensible option for a quad if you haven't got UHF. I was always waiting for the inevitable glitch when flying my electric heli's on 35 meg.
I would still avoid the Dx's and get a set with more range.
What tx is it? You could always go for the very good FrSky modules.

Yeah you kinda need hi-end Futaba or frsky if you're going 2.4

I had my spektrum gear from flying los so it's a make-do rather than spend out on whole new TX & set of RX's from a different manufacturer.

Must say Ive never really considered using 35mhz for rc control, using old school crystals & the resulting "oops sorry I didn't realise we were on the same channel" scenario instantly comes to mind.

Just need to finish range testing my ezuhf.

Thanks again guys - based on your input, I will kick the Dx6i idea into touch...

My Tx is a modest Futaba T6EXA with pretensions of being a 'Computerized Airplane System'.

Those words 'FrSky module' have cropped up a lot in recent FPV browsing, so if the Corona receiver explodes or is still too twitchy, then such a module might be an idea, although I'm thinking of keeping to 35Mhz for planes (wings?!) for the range and then getting a cheaper 2.4 system for the quad.

Thanks for the heads-up on the 2.4 Hitec Optic 6 Andy, at least with that I will be less likely to slice off my long 35Mhz Tx antenna as I bring those four whirling blades towards me...  :o

Phew 😃
Glad you're ditching the DX idea!!
Joking aside your 'humble' 6exa is a good set and pretty much does all you would need for FPV.
It's only when you start with more advanced stuff you will need the extra channel (s).
Don't forget to double the rx aerial to help. 😊

I'm learning something new every day... Thanks p'pete!

Just been reading Coyote's thread from a year or so ago about increasing Rx antenna length. Cool, that all seems an easy and worthwhile mod  :)

Now must head down to the Post Office to collect my EzOSD.

:santa: has come early this year  :D
