Way to go Liam,

You can cut the foam battery bay, all the way to the ply plate, enough space for a 3 cell, my turnigy 3S fits flush, with velcro strap like the raven.

The Falcon is 40" or 1 metre but with a bigger wing area than the Slipstream and unlike the slippy it does not require covering all over making it super fast building. It feels very light to fly, almost asks for more weight on it.

Nice work, don't forget some colour on it  ;D

i am working on the gopro mount, i will post some ideas for you, soon

Cheers Rob

Flew the Falcon FPV today and was very pleased with the results. Very stable and easy to fly!
The setup I used.....2200kv motor, 30amp ESC, 2200mAh 3s lipo. Going to try another motor this week if the weather allows. If the vid is any good I'll upload soon.

Nice one Phil,

I am going to try a 2 cell setup, 3300mah and move up to a 7" prop from current 3S 2200mah on a 6" prop, should get great duration, maybe 30 mins.

Did the Falcon feel that it could take more payload ?

Cheers Rob

Rob,
I'm sure it would comfortably carry more weight...but I like the way it feels as it is. I was also thinking of a similar setup with a 2000kv motor and 2s so the weight should be very similar.
I extended the ply underside all the way to the trailing edge as I thought it would stiffen up the centre section after cutting out the component bay and I also reinforced the control surfaces with good old cross weave.
Did you have any luck with the camera we discussed?

liambaker996

when my servos have been retunred mine will be up too :)
i am putting a 220kv motor on there so should be pritty decent :)

Tried a few different setups...this is the current one which seems to work well

                        3800mAh 3s Gens Ace lipos
                        Axi 2217/12 motor
                        30 amp ESC
                        8x6 folding prop
This w/e I will be testing the endurance. :P

Look forward to hearing your ideas. I'm still building my falcon. It's now going to be my test bed for my open pilot revolution

Just managed to bag one of these wings too, looking forward to doing a flight review of it once I get my hands on it - after seeing Liams yesterday I can't wait.
