Id go for a plane with a tail if you're concerned with stable video. Most wings will give you some kind of "shimmy" as theres no tail to keep it true, even with winglets. The Bix II and Skywalker 168 are good choices and will get you long flight times as they are both quite floaty.

Not too worried about the video stability as I just want long flight times with a decent airspeed for if the wind at altitude is a bit stronger than expected.

Most of you guys rate the X-8 and there's plenty of room inside for more than what I'd need to put in there, but if gives me the option to if I want :D

Have to say if this is your first plane (plank flying)stay away from flying wings just get something with a tail. SW or Penguin best choice if you have to have 10k range....but really what you need to do  is get a Bixler and fly it a lot, like 100+ flights, only when your comfortable with it out past 5k regularly,  then think to move up and on to something else.... but I think this will fall on deaf ears !.

The link below is a great build thread on here on the x8 from well informed folks, you will probably get all the info you need from it.
I myself want one but not yet.

Thanks guys. Not planning to go straight out to 10k straight away but want to have the option at a later date when I get a lot more confident and a lot of flights with it. Flown quite a few delta wings/planks in the past so I've got quite a bit of experience where that's concerned which is one of the reasons why I like the X-8, and the space inside for radio gear etc is fantastic!!
