Stronger springs are fitted now, so the body is better supported.

There's not room on the action man jeep to fit a gopro pan and tilt with the action man so I've used my mobius pan and tilt that I'd made already. I reversed the roll bar and there room for the camera to go right round even with his helmet on it.

Action man has been hacked up to fit round the camera. I felt like that horrible kid from Toy Story chopping him up. >:( It was quite traumatic!

I'll fit the steering wheel on a servo and wanted to make him arm flexible enough to turn with the wheel. I tried cutting his arms and attaching them on elastic, but there's still not enough movement. I'm going to try replacing his arms with spiral cable tidy next. That's about the right size and flexible.

Here are some pic of action man in his jeep. Some tidying to do and foam to get his body shape right, but I'll sort that out when I've fixed his arms.

Finished sorting out the suspension on my jeep. With the beefier suspension and the longer pro-line arms fitted the ground clearance is great, but it makes the wheels look a bit weedy!  :+

ActionMan has his head cam on a pan and tilt sorted. The jeep steering wheel has a servo so it turns with the steering. Trinity head tracker is also set up all connected to the Taranis. The wiring is set up so I can use the Traxxas controller or swap to the Taranis. The Traxxas controller has a wheel and trigger which is a bit more fun for steering.

Having tested the Taranis and Traxxas controllers, the Taranis range was so much better I've just got on with using that for FPV driving. At the field I got about 150m with the Traxxas - absolutely fine for normal RC driving. The Taranis was 300m and over 50 showing on the RSSI. That was about when I was running out of video reception too, though there was some long grass in the way.

I love the Taranis radio, it is so easy to set up and program. The trinity head tracker is also fantastic, really easy to control and adds to the feeling by being able to look round while you drive. Though the helmet over the camera looks good it's a bit heavy and adds the wobble on the camera. I'm sure a gopro on a pan only would be a lot smoother.

My son and I had great fun driving it round.  ;D Video from todays driving is uploading now.
