After joining in with a recent chat with some friends on the shoutbox we felt it was way time for a Caveoff. That is to say a comparison of Man Caves, their state, immaculate (I could operate on humans in there) to disgusting (Even Ebola would die off in that cave).

So let the fun begin. We're interested in all sorts of (Wo)man caves. Big, Small, High, Low, Shocking, Pristine, ingenious etc. Put your images up here and perhaps try to point out which way is up if you feel its too hard to tell :)

EDIT: Add heres my rather spartan Man Cave pre onslaught of all hobby stuff, so I've set the bar quite low I feel :)

There's a man bag in the mancave!!  :o

Game on - I have a right S*** hole.

I was going to do a short video tour, but I risked tripping over all the crap on the floor and hurting myself, so for now, let's open the door to the cave and take in the view.

A bit weird, as this mainly shows one of my other hobbies, which are video games, so the shelves are mainly packed with games for the 13 consoles I have on the shelves and general spread about, there are a couple of mini quads just in show on the floor, a mini skywalker on the shelf (and another mini quad frame) and a few helicals sat on a game shelf as well.

So if I kick some of the debris out of the way and have a look on the other wall, we see -

Much more flying orientated, with my Naza quad and Wing wing in the corner, then a 3d printer, followed by another mini quad, a few rubber band models, and old coax-heli (my very first flying thing) then El cheapo (the very cheaply made quad), my Bixler 2 and slightly out of shot the wing of my AXN and the winglet of my Flyingwings.co.uk Falcon (and below that is my Tricopter completely out of shot)

So if I now take a seat in my comfy chair and look back towards the door I see this -

Yuk - the debris field.  I'm in such a state here because I'm mid changing configs/building on several things, and charging for Mad Dogs, and my wife keeps dumping stuff just inside the door and says things like "find a place for this", so yes - cluttered.  More hobbies here, there are 3 guitars and a Ukelele in here (and a midi keyboard behind the door) obviously the wardrobe doesn't have any clothes in it, but instead lots of "stuff" which includes some more gear, video game stuff (I think there's a spectrum in there) as well as my DLG and electric and Nitro cars.

You'll also notice that my laptop bag doesn't look like a ladies accessory  :P

Double concrete garage with an office in the back, and a side room.

Plenty of benches and workspace, fully electricified (with many sockets and lights), heated + water tight :D

Not a bad space out the back of the garden either.

It had absolutely no bearing whatsoever on buying the place. *cough*

It also has a fridge, freezer, cooker, TV with freeview and a kettle ... heh.

CurryKitten

That looks awesome Steve - loads of room, and even indoor flying if the weather is bad :)

A bit premature but I'm moving house to get a bigger man cave! The new house has a triple garage, one of which has it's own door:

I'll be walling it off from the other garages and adding windows and a door to the front. I'll be fitting it out with a workbench running the entire length and an island for building bigger planes on.

At the front of the house I even have a field I can fly from:

I can't move soon enough!

Nice setups so far.

Currently got a very cramped 2.7 x 2m room. But been thinking about moving out to the shed.

Only problem its at the back of my very long garden. Think my wife would quickly get pissed of with me stuck out there all day.

That has simply epic potential .... :D

I found the best tactic was to start building planes on the kitchen table, she became pretty compliant to the idea of a new man cave after that.

Steve: Great space, I bet it gets filled quickly.

Our choice of property also had *nothing* to do with a field being out the back either.

Although they are shooting crows out there at the moment so best not to launch anything right now.

CurryKitten: I am in awe over your various hobbies and can only hope that our "Den" might accommodate some game playing with old consoles. I too have a selection of guitars that are currently somewhere in the other garage. I haven't seen them in a while.

Man this makes me feel really sorry for myself! My hobby stuff is currently sitting in a fabric storage thing in the living room! We are looking to buy a house so a man cave is an important part of the search!...second most important is a flying field close by 😀
