Nah forget about the quads and get that plane maidened  :)

I wanted to get a mobius Gimbal on my Disco but couldn't find a decent one

stevec

got a cheapo from goodluck buy or deal extreme and then blew the controller up so I got a micro alexmos controller from HK and it seems to swing the mobius about quite well, still lots of tuning to do but it works.
I should have just got a pro in the first place. would have saved me a month of faff.

I could do with a spectre or a Z3 but as usual I cant make my mind up...

the Z3 is winning at the moment because of the break down possibilities for transport and the extra space inside it for autopilots etc... I have just built a Multiplex funjet for proximity madness.

Formula for the correct amount of planes in your hanger is N+1 where N= the current amount in your hanger.

Haha, I think the number of planes in my hanger is approaching double figures, its already there if I include quads!

For FPV planes I have a Phantom FX61 and a Mini Skywalker.  I find the Phantom a bit boring as its more of a cruiser, you don't really fly it just cruise around and look at stuff.  The Skywalker is more fun and has to be flown but bounces around all over the place in wind.  I (think) I want something in between hence building the Spectre.

I've also been looking at the Z3, but I wonder if it might be too much like the Phantom because if its size.  I've also thought about a Twinstar which might be better for some proximity FPV..

Bit of footage from the weekend, chasing a couple of Bixlers  :)

Awesome, looks like its flying well! Tempted to try one out myself!

dp106

Yeah it does fly very well and has good flying characteristics. Difficult to stall and turns on a dime.  Wouldn't mind if it was a bit faster, I might see what it's like on a 4s ☺

That`s SteveW`s old haunt isn't it ?

Certainly flies well, doesn't mind being chucked around :)
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

Yep, I miss that field  May have to pop across to annoy my old neighbours :D

Got to love Spectres, I said ages ago I fancied one and I don't think I've seen one that flies badly yet.

I've liked the look of the specter as well, I was just about to order one when I decided to bail out and order a few pieces of epp foam, just finished Hotwire cutting the wings, currently working on the templates for the fuse and twin booms. Hopefully will fly as well as yours ;-) looks good!!
