Yes, I would fly my zmr way more crazy/risky than a blackout. It is a fraction of the price and just as strong.

What will make your arms any stronger?

I am not saying making them is a bad idea. If the price is right ill most likely buy a set. It is just very hard to compete with the Chinese prices.

a thing to think about would you fly your ZMR the crazy way the guys with blackouts fly their quads.

I do genuinely think the answer to this one is yes... perhaps more so.  Why ? Because it was a £22 frame, not a £100 one, therefore I'll take crazy risks without batting an eyelid.

Kendrick57

ok I'll alter that question slightly would you fly your ZMR the crazy way the guys with blackouts fly their quads. and have it survive?

ratty from your comment that the ZMR is just as strong as a blackout I just want to know 1 thing where did you get your ZMR copy because a Chinese ZMR is NOT as strong as a blackout plain and simple.

I got it from Banggood.

How is the blackout CF stronger?

do you know just how many different types of carbon fibre there are out there!
Ignore carbon glass composites they are a different animal entirely.

Well if you want to send me a sample to abuse ill happily do it.  :D

Even if the ZMR is weaker, it is still very strong.

I think all this stems from Bruce Simpson's videos where he seems to have a problem which is just not something I have seen too many other people mentioning.  I've broken various bits by crashing my ZMR but never one of the arms.

Bruce Simpson is full of ****  ;D

I wouldn't say full of **** but he does seem to have some issues with the zmr arms, maybe his are not the CF ones at all.

I keep seeing people bashing the zmr 250 and i have absolutely no idea why. I have been flying mine for 6 months and haven't broken a single frame part. I have scuffed the ends of the arms up from skimming the ground carpark-flying and that's it.

I am just updating my crash compilation for the zmr250 as the first 4 months was pretty tame....(mostly). I have had some nasty crashes more recently full throttle into posts and metal fences etc and still no damage.

Every time i take the thing out now I think to myself.... today, surely today an arm will break!

Oh sorry, just as a teaser here i am flying into metal, i know its not that fast but i have had so many similar or worse crashes, skip to 1:58 or so: http://youtu.be/dp4Vncz38BY?t=1m58s

I just want to say, I'm just making an example of how tought the frame is, i guess some people have had problems with it but i havent yet.

I am still totes interested in the upgrade arms of course, especially as i will hopefully be racing soon and will want that peace of mind(and spares)

Kendrick57

Well thanks for all the comments I have received, I think :+
From the looks of things you all consider the ZMR to be just fine as it is. If it ain't broke don't fix it and it's so cheap if it does brake a new one just costs $20 so no big hole in my pocket.
I think I'll just leave you to your own devices.
If there is anyone out there that is interested in a quality set of ZMR arms of the same quality as blackouts then PM me.
Remember quality costs money, you pay bargin basement prices you should only expect bargin basement products

We are all interested, but we want to know the price.  :D

On the first post, £29.50 for 4. Not a straight swap out though it seems, so when you need to replace 1 arm you need to replace all four corners?

Seems a bit of a hassle to me rather than buy a donor ZMR250 and replace just the one arm that need replacing.

Also, I think the general opinion here is that it's not a bargain basement product, it performs really well and just happens to cost very little, and is very, very hard to break an arm. With my ZMR250 I was really impressed with both the CF and the tooling which is quite contrary to Bruce's findings.

My point exactly, its cheap as chips and tough as nails.
