I just got a GepRC Elegant through, and I have to say, this thing is sexy as hell.  I was a big fan of the GepRC Sparrow, and this looks engineered even better.  I just hope in flight is as good as how it looks out of the box

That does look interesting CK. Can't wait for review.

FlyingRock

+1 looking forward too!

I like the little slots for motor wires, avoids prop strikes. Not sure the antenna holder really looks like it fits in with such a great looking design. Think if it were black would look better.
Only things not sure of are the battery slamming into the session in a crash. 38Degs for Session might be a bit high but I guess it gives the fpv cam more ability to tilt. Nice cushioning under the session.

It will be interesting to see how it flies Freestyle with a low deck and higher arms. Seems like weight will be towards thrust disk?

As far as the design goes with the lipo in line with the props, it's similar in this respect to the ImmersionRC Vortex Mojo 230, what I noticed with that was it's ability to utterly stop dead coming out of an roll/flip/etc.  The battery is central in the balance point, so there's no off-balance weight trying to pull/push anything else around.

I've not had the issue with the lipo moving in mojo.  2 straps and a silicon pad means it's stuck to the spot.  However, it is hard not to get the battery perfectly in without pushing the session slightly out, and you need to be really careful making sure the battery and balance cables are strapped away

Another TX526 VTX ... as my Immersion gear slowly dies out I'm replacing them with these as they're dirt cheap and excellent.

I did forget to buy more RPSMA-SMA convertors though - if anyone needs them, these are the ones you need:
RP-SMA Male -> SMA Female https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/112590736330

I am retiring my Mini Talon (for now, I have another one) and going to rebuild my Bush Mule using its components. The Mini Talon needs a new motor since the SunnySky one I have in it has bad bearings and is just about ready to fail.

I pulled its VTX onto my TBS Discovery which I have also resurrected.

So now I have (ready to fly):
Skywalker Revolution w/ Cyclops Tornado
Z-84 w/ T1000FC
TBS Discovery w/Naza
Immersion Vortex 285
Bushmule w/ Cyclops Tornado [on its way]

Need to get back to flying - easier when your gear is ready to rock and roll lol.

Managed to pick up a FrSky R9M module and the micro receiver for only £30! from www.t9hobbysport.com. (Delivered next day as I also ordered some batteries - Great service!)

I know it'll be a while before I get around to getting this setup but with the winter months ahead of us it'll be a good indoor project. Note it doesn't come with the flexi antenna but that's not much of an issue as I'll probably end up getting the FrSky 900MHz Super 8 Antenna in the end.

Although I was considering getting the X lite combo pack from here:

Hi m8,
I have one on order too from T9...(due in next week)

The Flexi TX antenna is for 915mhz (FCC), you dont want that one because you need to use the EU LBT Mode, which is 868mhz. The band is crowded on 900mhz by cell phones, so I suggest you stick to the LBT Firmware.
You can still get 500mw which will be plenty on this frequency.

Today I Upgraded Open TX Companion to version 2.2.2....You will need this to run the 868 mhz EU version.

Bit of a steal at £30 for a TX module and micro receiver....:) I will be getting a Dipole for my TX Module.

i got the R9M lite for my xlite from t9, bargain, though im not even really interested in long range lol, just got in case really, the receiver is really tiny which is great for my little 120.
doubt i will be using it any time soon though now summer has vanished down the plug hole.

mine did come with a flexible antenna, though it does say EU version on the box.

I tried 868 MHz a few years ago on ground fpv and it operated my car alarm, garage door opener and my mother's hearing aid.

Oh, that's interesting reading, alarms, smart meters, security devices...et al....its crowded airwaves for sure..

Its what the EU have chosen for us..lol

The FCC Firmware runs on the 900 915 band, which is heavily used by cell phone technology..?

Just to be clear 868 has never been legal in the U.K. for rc Control. In fact you would be better off using 35 MHz now that 99% of rc uses 2.4 MHz. Even 27 MHz

http://www.gtmbc.org.uk/frequencies_GBR.pdf

https://www.ofcom.org.uk/spectrum/radio-spectrum-and-the-law/licence-exempt-radio-use/licence-exempt-devices/Radio-controlled-models

800 MHz and 900 MHz bands are now licensed for use in the U.K. with an annual licence fee being levied of around £1.5 million per MHz. These bands are used primarily for tri band smartphones and other 4G devices. Burst transmissions from gas metering stations for example.

The text in the Ofcom stuff suffers from being in quite a technical language - as I suppose it will do, but be nice to have a summary page as well.  However, 2 things jump out at me.  First is that TBS got an CE mark on the Crossfire system as well as an EU declaration of conformity - which you don't get for a system that can't be used.

If you look at the frequency allocation table on Ofcom, then there's a note about "harmonised use of spectrum for short range devices (SRDs)" for 868.  This eventually led me to here https://www.ofcom.org.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0028/84970/ir-2030-july-2017.pdf where the document tells me that 868 can be used airborne, with the only exclusions being analogue voice and video.

I could be reading that wrong of course, but my understanding is 868 is legal in the EU for RC control up to 25mw
