It looks good on the plank videos so yeah it will be fine for you, but for being strapped to my 250 I wanted to stray away from CMOS.

I will probably get some for my Talon and Venturi though at some point.

I watched the Bonafide clip again on this Camera to remind me what its like...I didnt realise it was CMOS, but it really worked well and for £30 now seems a bit of a bargain.
Although thats for the Eagle 1 which has a 5 pin interface plug...not sure how much better the Eagle 2 is..?
Doesn't CMOS work better in low light situations..?...The footage looks pretty good on the Pirates clip though...even in bright sunlight it still works pretty good with GWDR on.
Im going to try one, I like the idea of a full Monitor of image to fly with...:)

Anyone else tried the Eagle 1....???

It's more the rolling shutter effect you can get from cmos cameras that is the main difference. To be honest I think you will be hard pushed to find fault with it.

Well since yet another immersion vtx of mine has broken I've decided to start migrating to other stuff so I ordered a TX526 from Unmanned Tech, that arrived today so I'm hoping they're decent .. it's 25/200/600mw switchable.

Only problem I have now is that all of my antennas are SMA and all of this new stuff is RP-SMA.

Just pick up a couple of adapters, can't say I've noticed any difference with them.

DS123

Not today but Saturday....

More parts for my next build this time a frame the Realacc Purple 215 (I paid £18.43):

Not too sure about this one the carbon was quite rough and in the photo's I've already filed down the edge of the main plate. I've just places in a camera to see how that looks and it's not protected as much as I thought it would be. Finally I think it's quite heavy at 117g with battery protector and strap (not included the foam feet that came with it). I think this is due to far too many steel screws that are needed to assemble it.

Oh and I also got some JST cables that fit into the back of my FPV cameras:

Fit fine but I'll need to swap the order of the wires.

Yep, picked a couple up and are working fine.

Nothing particularly exciting but a Vortex 285 Go pro mount

Hopefully this will reduce a tiny bit of weight, the stiffened may cure the last bit of jello too.

 Runcam Eagle 16:9....PAL.

Late to the Party with this one, but keen to see it on my Sharp Vision Monitor....Im wondering now if my cheapo HK DVR will record it in 16:9 ratio..?

Looking around the Hangar, the little Skyfun is perfect, change the mount and it will plug straight in...:)

Very interested to see how you get on with that

I really don't like my Runcam Owl Plus much - I know this is not the thread but HS1177 all the way. Runcam footage just seems too... washed out and pixelly. Be interested to see how you get on with that.

I'm sure I watched a review that showed that the 16:9 lost you vertical view instead of gaining horizontal view. Basically it appears they just added black bars top and bottom to a 4:3 image.

Coyote

That would suck if that is indeed the case :(

 Runcam Eagle 16:9 Ver 1

Update:  Now installed on the little Skyfun. As per the Pirates suggestion, I reduced the sharpness a little to suit my own preference.
GWDR was already set to ON...A short ground test and DVR recording was fine, although playback was in 4:3 Mode inside Media Player.
That said, the image looked a bit squashed in the vertical, so when you play it back in a widescreen capable player, it looks fine. I was using Scenic Player and it filled my Laptop screen totally without looking distorted in any way at all.

I need to play with the DVR recording some more and wait for some sunshine to test it in...(dont hold your breath)

The real reason I got this Camera was for a full screen on the two Monitors I have, and it doesnt disappoint, looks great on both.

1..... Fills the 10 inch Aomway Screen and looks pretty good.

2......Fills the 7 inch Sharp Vision Monitor and looks epic.

My one reservation so far is that it looks a bit oversharpened, even after toning it down a bit...but it is the V1 Eagle and it was cheap as they have recently released the V2 Eagle now.
This Camera cost a packet when they first released it, now its about the same as a Swift. Im also hoping it will have a good performance in low light / cloudy conditions.

Footage from the Skyfun in due course when we get some better light hopefully...Stay tuned.

Depends on the fov really. For example a hs1177 has around a 80-90° fov and an eagle is something like 130° so dispite being cropped to fit 16:9 you can still see roughly the same vertically (fisheyes a bit on the horizontal but it's ok)

If you are coming from a 4:3 with a lower fov it will be far less noticeable. Now If you have a wide fov camera to begin with then you will notice the cropping.

Loopdreams

I think 4:3 is a better shape for FPV than 16:9.  Widescreen is only really a thing because of cinema screens.  But VR setups for example typically use an aspect ratio that is nearer to being a square as this provides a greater sense of immersion.

Another point is that lenses are round so you'll always be able to leverage the greatest light gathering capability of that lens by using a sensor that is closer to being square.
