A little bit of fixed wing for a change... and look how tiny the box is

Looks quite interesting - it all snaps together with the idea being that it breaks down completely for easy transport... I don't know if that also means that it breaks apart in a crash though !

Let's hope the Dart Wing doesn't become the Lawn Dart Wing any time soon :)

Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

My last bunch of throws have done just that... but hey, here's hoping

Arrived today from T9 Hobbysport a FrSky XM Plus micro reciever....For my Furibee Darkmax Quad from Gearbest.

Yes, Im admitting it, I have gone over to the darkside..It's going to be a filming platform though I hope by the time I get through with it...Crazy I know, but hey, I dont care....lol.
The price had dropped to the point where it was irresistible, that's my excuse anyway.

A *very* nice package arrived for me today, after having fun with a santa quad I've got 2 slightly more hi-spec models through to review.  We have -

The is the Diatone GT200S - it looks like a work of art if you look at how it's been put together, it even looks like it's been pimped up with the silver motor wirings :D

..and this lovely is the Holybro Kopis 1 which emerged out of the carry case it's sat on, complete and ready to bind and fly !  This is supposed to be seriously fast, so I just hope my lipos will survive.  Interesting as well how they've done the FrSky antennas pointing out front at the angle.

Of course, I'm stuck inside right now trying to paint my daughters room white (as requested) which after 3 coats of "5 star coverage" paint is now just a slightly light shade of pink that it was (that said it' bloody horrible outside, so I can wait a while to fly these)

Very nice, they look fast! Looks like the smaller reviews and work you've been putting in is paying off! :D

Painting is a special kind of torture though, so I definitely don't envy you there. I'm doing white on white next weekend in the hallway and I know even that will need multiple coats!

New arrivals

The big lunch box type of thing is a King Kong ET100 - I thought I might try it indoors, but at 100mm it's probably a little over what you'd want, and an 80c 2s probably means more power than you want... but hey it's crap weather, worth a try isn't it.

The little black folded quad next to it arrived last night.  One of these little put-in-your-pocket-and-fly-anywhere ideas... another possible Xmas idea, without being Xmas themed.

What I didn't like about this was having literally popped out for 15 minutes to walk the dog, I see a yodel note has come through telling me the package is "side gate" this means that is was lobbed over a 7ft high gate and landed on concrete.  The result of that (I assume it was this and not normal transit) is a broken lunch box :(

Here is a pro tip on covering up Pepto Bismo coloured Pink Emulsion. I've lost count of the number of these we have done over the years as little girls grow up! First coat should be an oil based thinned down with white spirit Grey undercoat applied with a fine bristle roller. Followed when dry with Dulux Diamond White. Never fails.

You tell me that now I'm 3 coats in with at least another to do !  I had to take yesterday off as I woke up feeling a bit off colour... I think I need to have more airflow when I'm painting :)

You didn't ask! Also you will always get a better cover and finish with Latex based emulsion. FYI if you ever have any issues with decorating you can always call your nearest Dulux Centre for free advice.

Just now, a FuriBee DarkMax arrived - yay.  Accompanied by a £25 customs charge - boo.

The linear antenna they've supplied looks odd, it's got a right angled connector on it, so will only go straight like that.  Actually, ok when flying fast, but I'm not sure that's the intended one.

I also had 2 XM+ rx's turn up today as well, which is good as this is equipped with one of the AuroraRC compatible rx's that run out of range quickly, so I'll probably swap it over.

Hey Wayne, I hope that's not my Darkmax you have there....lol....Mine says its been shipped out, I paid the extra to have it tracked...Gearbest now have a reputation for poor delivery...

I have an XM Plus for mine too when it arrives...I hope by then you will have a clip up showing how to set it up in Beta Flight m8..

I have watched all your other tutorials though...:)

A new frame for a winter build:

This Chameleon type frame only cost me £25 in the 11-11 sales. It looks really nice and will be my first top mounted battery style frame. I like the fact this frame comes with the small standoff to fit on the top of the camera pod for extra strength and it also has really nice silicone non-slip pads for the battery and HD camera. Really looking forward to kitting this out over the winter.

Arrived Today from HKUK.....Wing Wing Z84.

In the Sale at £20 plus free delivery....I did have to buy a few other bits though to get up to $50.

Room for an F4 with iNAV...an XM+RX and some miniature VTX with the Runcam Swift Mini.

Unbelievably, I watched a Clip the other day with a 4000mah 3S in one of these, seemed to fly just fine...The CG on this plane is pretty critical by all accounts.  I dont think I will be having 4000mah in mine though.
