hobbyking is delivering the following:

turnigy 36.. 1900kv edf motor
2700 nanopuff 65-130c 6s pack
150a yep esc
6.5x6.5 graupner carbon speed cam prop
can't remember the servos, but they are digital mini metal gear ones with 2.5kg of pull.

not going to glass it, a friend has a similar setup without fpv gear and it's not glassed and works just fine.

not sure if i should be running the servos and rx from a bec instead of the sbec from the esc.

probably a fortnight before i can get into it so still some time to finalise the last bits of components.....

If you fry your esc you will lose control of the plane without a separate 5V ubec. Are you likely to be getting close to the esc's current limit?

You're only going to be flying this pretty close by aren't you? And the ubecs are quite large- the size of a 25A esc at least ime. As space is at such a premium in the fun jet,  and this is a very close range craft, imo you're ok to use the esc's bec.

Good luck programming the yep esc,  my 100a one was a pain in the arse, but finally blew it up and moved on.

I'd go for a separate bec, it's the esc that will get a hammering and at least then you can glide in when the esc gives up  like here with me...

programming the yep esc's is a doddle with the card.

i'm going to put a massive heat sink on the esc, and will check the setup out on the watt meter to see what current it's drawing.....  after that i can make the BEC decision.

a mate has the same setup but is using the pylon racing props and it's turning out 2900watts and the tips of the prop are supersonic and it sounds amazing and goes like nothing i've seen with batteries in it.  can't wait!!!

What size prop is that?
i believe he's using a 6.5 x 6.5 apc pylon racing prop.
