Hi Steve
I live near Penzance, and me and my brother get out flying whenever we can.
I'm sure we could meet up some time. I have some videos on youtube of some of my spots.

Hi Dizzy
Thanks for the message. my friend who sometimes flys with me lives in Perranporth so St agnes or porthtowan sounds like a good spot. If you drop me a line when you intend to go out round that area I could see about coming over.
I have only just started with the fpv side of things so it would be good to see how other people are going about it.
My equipment is still quite basic. I have a 200mw tx and have made my own cloverleaf/skew planar antennas. My goggles are some vuzix 280xl video glasses which work ok. my camera is the bulk basic though and I am not sure which way to go to upgrade, im thinking of saving for a gopro. As a platform i'm currently using a dynam sonic 185 glider although i have been looking at skywalkers on the net. I might even scratchbuild something when i get some time.
Do you slope soar as well?
all the best Steve

Hi Pasty
Do you fly at Predannack air field? I met a guy called Dave who took me there once to have a few flights.

Pasty

I used to years ago but these days I enjoy the more relaxed flying I can do while not being in a club.

I took a ride out to st Agnes head today to check out the area as I have seen and heard it's a good slope soaring spot. It was stunning with the weather the way it was. so which is the area that is the best soaring spot also do people go up to the beacon hill to soar?
The crazy thing is I have lived in Cornwall since 1979 and today was the first time up at st Agnes head it definitely won't be my last what a spot.
All the best Steve

Dizzy

I suppose going sloping is one reason to actually wish for bit of wind for a change (yes i mean wind not the other kind of wind although thats fun to if it's your own).
Keep me posted Dizzy
All the best Steve.

Hi West Country Folks!

A West Country FPV Fly-in would be fun, but Devon and Cornwall cover a big area, so somewhere in the middle  like near Oakhampton, might be the most accessible for all. I've heard there are some popular flying sites on the east  side of Dartmoor that are fairly sheltered from the Atlantic winds. I'll try and find out more. Another option could be the abandoned airfield at Davidstow, but its often pretty breezy there on the edge of Bodmin. Anyone got other suggestions?

JAB1a

Hi all, Im near Plymouth and would love to get together and have a good fly with you all, seems this area is a bit light on FPV flyers or maybe they are just keeping thier heads down. Check out some of my vids from around the area on Youtube, search for JAB1a.
To fly or not to fly? this is the question

Dizzy

If we await a weather window when the weather will be ok for a weekend a meet at davidstow airfield may be possible.

Thing is who would be up for it??

That's nearly out of Cornwall Dizzy, I think Newquay would be the limit for my Qpod.  :P

Hi G i was thinking we need somewhere central really but finding somewhere is a prob as Rosudgeon is to far down this way for the plymouth lads, i will keep asking  :D  maybe find a club somewhere prepared to have us for a day or a week end  :)
