I've imported and edited both raw MP4s from my GoPro as well as GoPro Studio converted clips, both were processed fine.

They were 1080p/60fps

However, the image stabilisation isn't very good on some of the clips I tried

What am I doing wrong here?  I have a video clip stored in a file on the hard drive. I go to import media file, click on the file, and a window pop up says "this action is not available on the trial version you need to buy etc etc". I try to import the raw file from the camera and it says the same.

Check what happens when you process the video and how it uploads to youtube and vimeo.  This trial version ive got will not import mp4 files, will only render at 25fps or to the lowest clip you include in the video, so 3 @ 60 and an intro at 25 = all @25.  Anyway version 12 has most of what I would need and its only $14 in the USA.

The v14 from the cyber web site. The v12 is for sale on eBay. If I went for this program I would only go for the 12 as I don't want or need any extras at all. Actually I have been talking to my bro in law who owns a graphic design co and does a bit of film production today. He thinks I'm mental sticking with a PC and the looming take over of win 10. He thinks I should switch over to a small used  iMac.
