I didnt think you flew FPV any more Mark with work etc, do you still have the Titan??

Yes still have the Air Titan.

And I still fly every now and then, not as much as I'd like to but hopefully 2017 I will be flying for fun more.

But the Talon should be simple chuck in car, arrive and fly plus I have most of the parts for it laying around just needs servos and motor.

Needs to get that engine running reliably first!

Hi Guys,

Sorry for the lack of activity on the hub.  Anyway got out at the weekend with Mike (drone5) and flew both Mini Talons.   Nothing remarkable about this vid, it was just a really short flight when I finally flew the MT with the MFD AP.  I've had the MFD AP for over a year.  It went in the Z3 that never successfully got into the air.....  then it went into the MT but had a fault.  Finally got a new board from MFD .   Then had ezuhf probs - new antennas from Bignose 13 solved the prob.

Anyway, I was really pleased it all worked well.  Didn't go out too far but no range probs on low power .    Also flew the other MT with the FY41AP and had a great 25 minute flight.

I see this thread is 34 pages long and didnt want to go thru all of it.
i was wondering what is the best motor/esc/prop setup for long range flight on the talon.
I will be running 4s battery, whichever size is best for setup thanks.

mrorange26

What flight time do you get with that setup.

mrorange26

Also what size motor is it

mrorange26

Ok thanks for info,Any particular esc  better for this setup.

I'm gonna throw my hat in the ring on this... I bought a Mini Talon on the spur of the moment after reading how everyone sez how great they are ;)

Is anyone flying the MT on a 3 cell battery? I have plenty of 3s but no 4s and don't really want to spend anymore at the 'mo. I have a 3530 1700kv motor I can use or would a 1400/1500kv be better?

Any advice welcome! Thanks

I think SteveW was flying his on a 3s. By all accounts it'll fly but lacks a bit of umph. Check out the build threads. I fly 4s so can't say for sure sorry.

Yes I have mine on 3s, but thats only because the 1400kv NTM motor I have installed started to melt until I dropped it down from a 8x6 prop on 4s, to a 7x5 on 3s ...

It's going straight back onto 4s when my new motor arrives - it does fly, but it doesn't really climb brilliantly - it reminds me of my old Bixler on a 3s with a 6x4 prop (2200kv)

So I will be running a 8x6, 1250kv, 4s .. and she will fly properly :)

Been reading that mini talon are hard to launch is that right,I will be running the sunnysky motor with 8x6 apc prop and a 4s 8000mah battery.

No not really, unless you have a torque roll issue. Then that may catch you out but mine doesn't suffer from it.
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)
