Ok. Done.

My petition:

Do not adopt the recent EASA 'Prototype' Regulation on Unmanned Aircraft

The petition calls upon MPs to ensure that jurisdiction of the UK civilian airspace remain completely under the control of the CAA and that the recent EASA document "'Prototype' Commission Regulation on Unmanned Aircraft Operations" not be put into place within CAA controlled airspace.

Cheers guys! The petition has received the first 5 emails which are needed to get the petition off the ground. Here's the link to the official petition now and I'll post this in a new thread as well. It might take a couple of days before the petition can get officially up and running.

Some semi-good news on this folks.

I just weighed my aerobie flying disc, at 144g it is perfectly within the new EASA guidelines for A0 class aircraft.

Hooray :)

Unfortunately- it can fly further than 100m and doesn't seem to have RTH or any geolimitations so I feel slightly naughty for flying it. Any advice apart from not chucking so hard? I don't want my neighbour calling the police on me when I'm out at the park.

The obvious answer of course for any device capable of breaking these regulations that cannot carry any electronic limiting devices, is a large fruit cage. Simply take it with you whenever you wish to fly making sure that when you erect it, no small children are trapped inside. That way you can fly/throw your craft to your heart's content.

Alternative!y there is the laser fence installed at the other end of your 100m stretch. This will suitably shred your model into safe pieces as it flies through. Sadly it also does the same to passers by.
