Today, I took the meticulously built, streamlined and brand new Mini SkyHunter out which had the Omnibus F4 fitted and running iNav.

Failsafe was set with zero throttle, RTH and stabilisation were meticulously tested (as much as possible on the ground).
I did check after check after check and I even did a range test and a flight plan which is the first time I've done either! I was so adamant that I was going to have a complete flight and no crashes but........

Launch was superb in 'passthrough' and everything was fine....... for 5 seconds.
I don't know how or why but the flight controller decided to point at the sky, disarm itself at 300ft and then point the nose at the ground whilst it held the throttle wide open.
It was like it didn't want to be a "flight controller" anymore and much preferred to be a camicazi pilot with raging diarrhoea and a clear view of a toilet.

My arse was pulsing like a cat's purr as I saw it heading toward the ground at (estimated) 90mph.
In the 5 seconds before it hit the ground, I frantically flicked every switch on my Taranis (like a 12 year old playing GTA on a PS4) and even had time for a string of obscenities and a small amount of poo came out.
When the echoes of impact had stopped ringing in my ears, I then proceeded to search for the 100's of pieces which were scattered over 50ft (It looked like it'd exploded rather than crashed).
The impact was so great that the carbon fibre booms went through the wings and shattered on impact. The whole horizontal stabiliser was then embedded in the wings and the flight controller was somehow wedged between the cells in the battery.

I got home and checked over all the bits and realised I'd left the Runcam Eagle at the crash site. I went back and I had to dig it out of the ground (literally).

You can't beat the Aeromax for simplicity and ease and this is the final lesson to myself. I'm NEVER fitting a flight controller to a plane which ISN'T designed for planes!
I've been over the DVR footage, been through my Taranis logs, been over all the wiring (what's left of it) and nothing leads me to believe it was anything I did wrong.
The split second before it went haywire, it had 18 sats, the RSSI was at 95%, the throttle was at 40% but it just disarmed itself, locked me out, stuck its fingers up at me and displayed the flight summary.

Remember children, I do these stupid things and always fail so you don't have to!

On the up-side, my beanbag is now full and I have somewhere to sit and reflect on my own stupidity.

To summarise, and in answer to your last comment, I won't be doing a video on iNav  ;D

Oh,....Bolux...Tony m8....I do feel for you...:(

  I felt sure it would be ok too....but what do I know about Mini Rotor FCs..?...Well, an Aeromax OSD with its tiny GPS puck as a Navigator package will be just fine on the little Skyhunter, it's so very light, and very simple, even I could do it, so it must be..lol.
As long as the Video link holds up, you should be fine. Since you now have the Micro EZUHF, one of those tiny 200mw 1280mhz VTXs would not be out of place on the little Hunter, and according to Ian, should be good for several KMs.
  I use them, and can testify to 4kms easy with a banging signal. Im a great believer in keeping things simple, mainly its because I am...:)
  I hope you have ordered a new Mini SH..?...At least you know how to build them now, and I won't have to sit through an INav Tutorial wondering WTF is going on....:)

Doing 80km roundtrips regularly with iNav, no problems so far...
Using it in all my planes.
Most iNav crashes are user error related, sorry.

I use 6, 7 and 8 ublox gps for iNav.
Maybe try resetting settings with u-center.
Did u select ublox protocol in iNav and auto config?
Tx and rx exchanged?

A quick question if I may. Built my s800 last night and still have a few teething trouble to iron out. I'm using an omnibus f3 and inav but I can't get the channel map right. I've hooked op the servos correctly and have the correct channels responding in the correct direction in the receiver tab, but the servo movement is incorrect. The wiki says to use the servo tab to  adjust rates and direction, but none of the servos are configured. How should it be set up?

Also pitch input is giving a roll servo response and vice versa, but I've definitely wired everything correctly. Any ideas?

The "pitch input is giving a roll servo response" will be simply because you have a servo running backwards.... call it an optical illusion if you will ;)
I don't have anything to test iNav with at the moment but you need to change the servo output from +100 / -100 to -100/+100 or vice versa (in the servo tab).

I can have a look when I get home but this will hopefully point you in the right direction.

Thanks for the input. The way inav sets up a flying wing has the elevon servos plugged into channels 3 and 4. So which is servo 1 and which is servo 2 after it's been through the flight controller mix?

I think they still just map straight to servo 3 and 4 if I remember correctly. I had the same on my mini Drak, one was going the wrong way giving the impression that aileron and elevator were reversed. Change it to -100% and you're golden. Just try it in the servo live mode and see what happens.

You will only be able to arm if the navigation is safe. So all calibrations need to be done and you need GPS fix...
Or if you want to test something you can make "set nav_extra_arming_safety = off"
This allows you to arm without GPS fix

Ok so success, 6 sats and it will arm and the motor runs! Only issue now is that the right hand servo (4) runs in the incorrect sense when in a stabilised mode. It works correctly with manual inputs and the left servo is fine both manually and automatic, but the right servo automatic inputs would enhance the displacement rather than oppose it. Any ideas?
