Good tip. In my case that's not it though as I run an all metal hot end so no PTFE  in sight.

Tried dropping the temp by 5 degrees at a time, got to 220 degrees and still no change so I will swap colours, if the other colour does the same I'm going with nozzle, failing that ( and my gut feeling ) is its just crap filament.

Before you go buying more the filament, pull 3 meters off the roll and bake it in the oven for an hour and see if it prints better.

OK, its ABS, what temp would you recommend ?

Try 160f not Celsius...lol  convection oven does a good job, bake it for an hour keep checking that its not melting, if you did a full spool it would take a couple of hours.

might be worth investing in one of these if you print not so often as it will save you throwing out rolls of moist stale filament. https://www.ebay.com/itm/283215092777
A more expensive one would be better

Good tip, I made my own a few years ago, I keep all my filaments in there, this stuff was fresh from a supplier though so might have been stored badly. I'll bake it tonight and see if I can rescue it.

I baked the spool for 2 hours at 50 degrees last night. To my amusement the filament was fine, but the spool didn't fair so well, have you seen those DIY pics when you make a record into a fruit bowl ? :)

I then put it in my storage box ( with silica gel inside. )

This morning I tried printing, at first the first few prints it kept failing in the form of stopping extruding, so I dropped the temp to 225 which seems ok. As far as the popping, it pops less, but still does it, so I'm putting it down to just crap filament really.

Trying to get some black ABS in the UK with a reliable source is evading me right now, everytime I find a good one they are out of stock with the black all the time.

Always used these guys for both PLA and ABS with good results on my trusty old MK1 Turnigy Fabrikator

Raise the temperature by a few degrees and slow down the print speed to an extra hour or so. That's normally the issue with gaps, I couldn't see from your image, but if you don't have one you have to get a container to keep the temperature homogenous around your printer. Maybe also consider what printer you're using, I use the Geeetech A10M and I fixed the issues you were saying by doing what I said. I bought mine from https://www.dibbsto.co.uk/3d-printer/geeetech-a10m-3d-printer/, if you're interested.

Thanks for the reply, it was poor filament material, I bought another spool from 3dprintz and all the issues went away instantly.
