I got a bit of time today to start the Sirius from the Skywalker factory
Will be using 35Mhz, Nova OSD RTH, MFD Tracker, and Gopro as flight cam (Maybe)
First thing I had to do was to make the elevator servo hole a bit bigger for the Tower pro servo's bit of a pain as the servos fitted perfectly in the wing????

Fitted the servo extensions

Then started on the wings








Had a little parcel from The G Man today


And need to sort this little mess out

The ESC from Giantcod came today, few things I didnt like about it was the power leads were far to short where I want the ESC which meant the motor wires would be far to long
So out with the NEW soldering station, yep other one blew up on me and to work I began
First I extended the motor cables and shortened the motor wires

And because I was going to use my 9 Ch PCM Futaba RX which has not been used for a couple of years I decided to add a new aerial to that as well, the  cable on the rx just didnt feel right, so no chances there

Then did the Shakira mod to the end of the cable for extensions

Added the heatsink back to the ESC which by the way fell off when I removed the shrink wrap, then added my own shrink wrap and Roberts your fathers brother

I actually know a man in Chepstow who will fall off his chair coughing once he see's the pictures I just uploaded

You have to install the motor and mount before putting the sides together, you just aaint gonna do it otherwise

Next, I tried to get the wiring tidier, this is a lot better than it was, trust me, I also added the GPS inside the fuze on top of the RX, did tests and found sats no probs, even with G's pod and Gopro on top


Added the fuze sides together and thats about it really, didnt take as long as I thought, just need to maiden and test everything out, it all works in the garden so looking good in the real world

Are you just going to have the GoPro as teh cam?

Yes mate for the time being, G is doing the pan and tilt pod for me, the one I have is just a proto, bloody good proty considering he didnt have any measurements, only the foam pod

Plenty of room in there compared to an Easystar. I like the way unlike the Skywalker you could swap motors as and when you see fit much easier.

I`m really liking this model, nice long Ailerons to combat the curled wing tips, the Rudder is a good size and more streamlined than the Eazystar too.

Did you cut a hatch into the fuse to get to your equipment ?

You dont have to Ian, the ply tray everything is attached to slides in and out easy enough

Going for a folding prop set up and need a bit of advice
Using a 3 cell lipo what would get me high up quicker
A graupner 7x5.4 or an aeronaut 7x6, bit lame on things like this, dont really want all out speed just something to get me high quickly
