Great location and met some really nice people just needed better weather. The indoor flying was entertaining but the highlight were the bacon butties, thanks Simon for organising it all. March sounds good.

Now it is time for me to be embarassed as somebody I was talking with, yes I have forgotten your name, asked about best placement of all the bits and I referred to a set of guidelines on the forum, here they are:


• Keep the video transmitter well clear of the GPS module
• Keep the video transmitter well clear of the R/C receiver and it's antenna
• Keep the OSD as far as possible from the GPS module
• Keep the camera away from the R/C receiver and it's antenna
• Keep the OSD away from the R/C receiver if possible

Based on this:
• The GPS module can be close to the R/C receiver and it's antenna
• The video transmitter can be close to the camera
• The camera can be close to the OSD
• The ESC can be close to the camera and OSD

Good advise.

good to see a few faces to go with the names, though i'm terrible for forgetting who's who! lol. got a bit more good info on equipment placement etc. over xmass i should be able to get time to finish my quad. next time i'll be flying (i have to say that to make myself find the time).

It was great to meet all of you guys and a big thank you to Simon for organising the event and for being such a welcoming host. Oh and lets not forget the lovely bacon sandwiches and buns too, very nice.

Found this on my ground station camcorder, I think it was aitch flying LOS. Notice the budding young Darwin Award entrant running into the middle of the hall, being told off and then retreating rather sheepishly. The quad undercarriage was quickly mended and flew again. The projector and screen was excellent for showing live action.
