What ever dates you set are fine by me. If the weather is good i will try to be there.

ROVguy

Sweet!!! :-) this will be my birthday present to myself then! :-)

Flyn

Cool sure we'll get somit sorted thats gonna be good for everyone.

Is your birthday one of the weekends? Will we need to get you a cake? ;)

ROVguy

No, my birthday is on the 16th so just after ;) What is the location by the way? Where is everyone looking at staying? Maybe it would be a good idea if we tried to stay in the same hotel or the same town/village? It would be more sociable at least :)

Flyn

I got locations down & will be shared soon enough.

We haven't gotten as far as hotels etc, some of us are thinking of being hardcore & camping out!

However it would be great to all stay in or near the same place - have been thinking about that, as going for a pint & a slap up meal with everyone after a days flying Bardney was ace.

ROVguy

Well thats what I was thinking, I dont want to be driving all over the lakes when Im wanting a few beers ;) I cant do the camping thing, or should I say the mrs cant. Besides, I like my luxuries ;)

ROVguy

Was just thinking about the Vtx issue, maybe have a separate landing site with someone babysitting with a walkitalkie to the pilot area?

Flyn

Hi mate, did mention a remote landing site earlier in the thread, but yes could be a good idea to have some separation on returning planes.

ROVguy

Yeah I noticed that, but I was thinking more in the line of comms, as Im sure you or someone said that mobiles are sketchy at best round there? Maybe some cheap 2-ways are an alternative?

Flyn

Flyn

Cool, super cheap too.

I got a kenwood talkie too

ROVguy

Sorted, I will pick some up before we head of to the Lakes

Ok, I've had a chat with some of the guys & we've got some dates for the meet.

The first dates put forward are the 6-7th of April with backup dates of the
13-14th incase of bad weather on the primary days.

If anyone is in need or would like I'll be able to make them some right-hand polarised skew antennas or for those who want left-hand polarised for interference free close quarters group flying I can do those too.

I'll be doing some LHP for myself!

I'm out i'm afraid if the dates are the 6-7th April

I'm working :'( :'(

if it had been Easter weekend I could of made it.
