I was wondering if anyone was up for a meet up and fly in South Yorkshire in february? Nothing fancy just a general fly about and maybe a bite to eat? Im open to suggestions as to dates and places if people are interested?

Well I wil defo be there. Got quad sorted today and been out for a fly with it.
Also got the AXN but that is on 2.4 so won't be going to far. Still sure I can get some runs down the side of mam tor. Moved the Gopro on it to so gonna need to trim it up again.
It will be a great day and I'm looking forward to it.

The main concern is possibly issues if anyone is on 2.4GHz video as their transmitters might cause havoc with your picture.

Need to get a few things on order this week and get closer to flying my own but till stuck on deciding to go 550 or TBS frame ..... tho I did like how much fun the plain flying looked.
Down side is might be a while till I get to do my own FPV flying :-(

If you watch the video, every turn is to the left. It's a great video but I was getting dizzy by the end.

just got the bug to go out and play ... the plain idea would be a cheaper option and I could then FPV fly with the same cost a quad/hex without the FPV

Plane + sim + fpv gear would be way cheaper than a fully kitted out quad or hex!!
Go with Phoenix rc as you can do fpv on it!!!!

Faffer, have a good read through this newbie guide to FPV that I wrote.. it isn't perfect but it might help you better understand some stuff with regards planes (i'm not really a multi person although i have dabbled with home built ones on a KK2 board).

Well, cos I'm a lecturer at a uni, I can't get the bursary....but if I go as a mentor...and help people come up with 'research' ideas, and collaborate from a Uni / Research point of view, they can pay my travel costs :)
