So I ordered a DVR and MFD AAT from BEVRC. All good apart from the DVR was faulty the moment it arrived :'(
Someone warned me that returning the item to China wouldn't work because it would never make it... seems they were right:

So that's a complete waste of £60 + £10 posting it back :( Lesson learnt, I wont be ordering from China again, I'm just really pleased the AAT was ok!!
Might of been me that warned lol.
Still waiting for my storm to arrived back to china.
Seems RTH is only 1 way.
And it doesn't take 2 years to get through customs.
it's always been known that we take our chances when ordering anything from China (or anywhere else abroad for that matter)
poor customer service, lack of product support, possible faulty goods with no financial viable way of recouping your costs on one hand
on the other hand, super cheap prices compared to UK or EU based suppliers, and thats if you can even find a UK or EU supplier of the item you're after.
I can honestly say I've saved more than I've lost over the years by buying from overseas, but on the off chance I get a crappy item or stung for massive "fees", I tend to offset that with all the savings I've made in the past.
some you win, some you lose.
feel for you though, especially if it's a major component of a FPV system like a DVR that you've been now doubt looking forward to receiving for ages.
I ordered from foxtech they have really good customers service.
Had to send a motor back they sent the replacement all I had to do was give the tracking number, did not have to wait for them to receive it.

Thats good and worth knowing! I messaged BEVRC to say i want a replacement as i paid for a unit months ago and have nothing to show for it. Their response is "we will repair it when it gets returned to our factory". If it was UK or USA etc i'd say get lost i want a new one, not a repaired unit... but with China their rules are different
Adam,
How about i send you a spare used BEVRC DVR i have sat around? (PV700 type)
Regards

I ordered my first quadcopter from Goodluckbuy and received it very quickly but instead of 4 ESCs it had only 3. I waited until the end of the Chinese New Year celebrations before emailing and shortly after received 4 ESCs instead of the missing 1. Good outcome.
I ordered a radio/MP3 player from a Far East Ebay seller and despite promises that it had been sent, then another sent, it never arrived and the seller stopped answering emails. This took me outwith the Paypal refund time and Ebay feedback time. Bad outcome.
On balance the pros outweigh the cons.

this is why I like what this forum has become
it used to be full of knowledge hoarders, and anyone ask a question and you'd be shouted at and told "use the search function" and so on... nice to see that people actually help these days instead of just bumping gums :)
Big thanks to Gundummy, what a legend
FYI you could have ordered direct from My Fly Dream

his problem was with the DVR, not the AAT
Yes I saw that but I thought I would pass the info. Could have got the DVR from HK Europe
A seconder for foxtech i have never had an issue other than a part missing from a hexcopter which was forwarded rapidly after one e mail plus a voucher for the inconvenience :)
Although i am careful whom i order from and try to vet them first big savings can be made but i admit its all a chance thing :+
dizzy :)
So I have lived and worked in China for nearly 9 years. I have seen it all.... Well a lot anyway.
For sure there are plenty of good and bad points to China. I ask before you bash how many products in your home have the "Made in China" Label on them??? You shirt, paints, TV, I phone, etc etc. How many of them are ok?
For a small industry (in our world) like RC most of the suppliers are fantastic when it comes to selling, getting stuff out the door and PAID. Offcorse getting refunds or replacments costs them and we are just 1 person in the 1.4 billion people on the local door step. Someone else will come along. That is how they see it.
As for posting stuff back. All I can say is contact the supplier before sending. BEVRC are very export orientated from what I can see so will try to help.
An absolute must from all my experiences is you MUST HAVE THE ADDRESS ON THE PARCEL IN CHINESE. Get this from the supplier. Unless you are sending DHL or Fedex or alike you have to have the address in Chinese. Just imagine the Chinese postal system with 1,4 billion people to service and a small parcel comes in with a address in a language you cant read. Imagine how fast it gets put to the Bottom of the pile.
I have had so much stuff just not turn up its not fully. But if its in the local language the service is fairly reliable. Even better still pay the extra $2 or so to have it signed for.
Cheers

I had never thought of actually putting the address in Chinese on it but its so obvious when you think about it.

Just so you know guys, i DID put a Chinese address on the parcel and i DID pay they extra to have it signed for. BEVRC provide you with a chinese and english address and request you add both, so i did.
In the end royal mail cofirmed that they signed for it... I sent this letter to BEVRC on the 'return thread' they had open for me... and they never replied again once i had this proof! :hammershead: :shoot: :row: :thebird1: :censored: :censored:
