Title: Bored
Post by: FPVSteve on December 28, 2015, 06:38:17 PM
I'm currently suffering from "enforced family time" and I'm itching to do something else, anything else.

Anyone else have a spouse who insists that Christmas should be about family time, when said family would rather be doing their own thing (Xbox, work, etc) instead of watching crappy mind-numbing films and pretending we actually like one anothers company?

BAH HUMBUG!!!

Nope! Very early on I demonstrated what would happen if I was forced to integrate with normal people, it's never been asked of me again.

Lol I have suffered the same fate so far. Its OK i guess because I should spend more family time, and my FPV MOJO has taken a massive battering. I do though know that by Jan 2nd its back to normal running and countless hours in the man cave topped with selfish amounts of time used up flying are coming soon :)

Spent the afternoon hooning around FPV on a 300 Watt Axion Laser Arrow in the wind  :)
Just about 100 MPH groundspeed downwind (T.W.O. in a gentle dive)  ;)
Oh the joys of being single  :D

Shrek the musical?

It's like they make things up on purpose to piss people off at Christmas!

Not that chuffing idiot. My lad whatches him. That inane laughter makes me want to shoot him with a bullet with
jagged edges, but at least he doesn't swear.
My boy started watching someone called Paul Sholes(?) jnr who is quiet instructive on the Minecraft front.
Cheers, Mark

Edited for speeling.

Youtube channels where there aren't any swearing are my holy grail, I'd love to be able to watch stuff in the living room with the kids around but without TV-style watershed stuff you just never know.

Steve: you're obviously not alone! I for one have just escaped to the mancave on the premise that "I have a lot of wires to sort out". You know, that box of wires that grows ever larger, more tangled, and is a welcome respite from simply too much "family time".

I'm not on facebook anymore either... I binned it just before Christmas.

There was no way I was going to torture myself with pictures of people's christmas dinner clogging up my newsfeed lol

Just the smell of that resin takes me back 50 odd years to Sunday afternoons tinkering with my dad in the shed! He was in the REME during ww2 and was stationed at Bletchley Park as an electrical engineer.  So I guess it's in the genes

Yes, proper lead based ersin solder....Not that crap they use now...bright silver joints, not grey....lol....Its ok, as long as your not using it on a daily basis...

You can still get it from RS believe it or not....In a plain brown wrapper from under the counter...:)

Bored.. with so many odds and sods kicking around i dug out enough bits to put together a "test bed" for random cams, Vtx etc etc.  Thought I'd make it a plug and play type effort.  I'm going to use the Tarot FC and OSD so i get to test it before putting it in the "Big Fricken X8" copter.

yep  ... a good old 450 Flame Wheel ressurected like a phoenix from a set of burning underpants.  All the bits were in random drawers of the man cave  ;D
So .... 1.2ghz stanby for range testing,  Taranis 8dbi Antenna mod, standby for more range testing..... In fact,  amazing what you dig around and find when bored....  :D

No other 450 sized quad has ever beaten my old 450 Flame wheel records so you're probably right there steve.  When i upgraded to a tbs disco, after 2 months i threw the disco frame in the bin, ended up digging it out of a skip for ROVguy many moons ago.

I think if i stick a 4s 5000 that i normally lob in the Disco Pro, and a 1.2 Vtx I'll be laughing.
