I have not been acquainted with this Stampy character, but judging by the responses I think that will be a link I will not be clicking on :)

Lol, that's not a link to Stampy, it's a link to a site that estimates his YouTube earnings!

Steve: you're obviously not alone! I for one have just escaped to the mancave on the premise that "I have a lot of wires to sort out". You know, that box of wires that grows ever larger, more tangled, and is a welcome respite from simply too much "family time".

I'm with you steve... my missus insists that I come in from tinkering in the garage and that my Daughter come down from watching minecraft videos on her iPad, and all sit in the living room to watch a crappy "Christmas" movie...... all the time we're both sitting there bored crapless and she's still on her iPhone complaining about what someone else has put on facebook

Sorry but this made me laugh .. we're not on Facebook at all any more, but I still remember it well.

Ban that crap ASAP!

Cockney Boy

I'm glad mine are grown up and I have mucho tinker time available. For all that have young kids, it does get easier !!

I'm not on facebook anymore either... I binned it just before Christmas.

There was no way I was going to torture myself with pictures of people's christmas dinner clogging up my newsfeed lol

I did some soldering using some real resin based Solder....Instead of that crappy Health And Safety solder that provides a dry joint every time.....

Ah, I feel so much better now.....I love being a renegade.....are you listening EU..?.....You overpaid stuffed shirts.

:P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :flagUJ:

:vulture:
Just the smell of that resin takes me back 50 odd years to Sunday afternoons tinkering with my dad in the shed! He was in the REME during ww2 and was stationed at Bletchley Park as an electrical engineer.  So I guess it's in the genes

Yes, proper lead based ersin solder....Not that crap they use now...bright silver joints, not grey....lol....Its ok, as long as your not using it on a daily basis...

You can still get it from RS believe it or not....In a plain brown wrapper from under the counter...:)

Nothing beats the smell of Jet-A at 800 Celsius...:)

Bored.. with so many odds and sods kicking around i dug out enough bits to put together a "test bed" for random cams, Vtx etc etc.  Thought I'd make it a plug and play type effort.  I'm going to use the Tarot FC and OSD so i get to test it before putting it in the "Big Fricken X8" copter.

yep  ... a good old 450 Flame Wheel ressurected like a phoenix from a set of burning underpants.  All the bits were in random drawers of the man cave  ;D
So .... 1.2ghz stanby for range testing,  Taranis 8dbi Antenna mod, standby for more range testing..... In fact,  amazing what you dig around and find when bored....  :D
