Looks good, pretty challenging once you add speed to it.
Very fast and sweeping compared to the qualifier track though, I'd want a totally different setup for that scale of track...

Not sure what format they are running regarding how many laps needed ect.
That is a full throttle all the way track for Luke tho, so hope his battery lasts lol.
They are using totally different set up from the quali track.
I wonder if they have weeded out the right people because the track style is so different. Unless they wanted the people who could do the proximity stuff so they know they won't go to pieces on a big open layout like that and that lets them concentrate on racing each other rather than the circuit.

I am not sure tbh, the way they did the qualifying was a bit strange.
The trouble is, as the sport is so new there is no perfect way to do quails/scoring yet.
People are trying to find a nice balance that rewards speed and consistency. At some events its been too heavy weighted towards consistency and you get boring races as people take it easy to ensure they complete the laps. Then you can end up with some one who was lucky or took it easy winning, when they are no where near the speed of the guys that crashed out.
Its hard as you want the tracks to be hard enough to be competitive, but easy enough that anyone can enjoy them self. The scoring to be fair, but not stop people pushing themselves.
There will always be an element of luck on the day I think, that just has to be accepted. Adds to the pressure of the race. ;D

I didn't really understand the race format either. It was a race, but the winner was decided by the fastest lap? Or was there a mix of fastest lap, and who finished first?

There seems to be a lot of things to be improved in the format and competition, but nevertheless a fantastic achievement by Banni and the whole team.

Yup, its 43. The whole of team X blade are splitting the money. There were 5 per team and they had 5 teams I think, plus a few bag carriers or whatever.
If it was me, I personally couldn't take the money from him. He is too nice to say a bad word about it too.

If this is the case, there isn't much in it in terms of money, but I guess the fame is worth more! :)

British round all also be held in a muddy farmer's field somewhere, with the course laid out with a few tatty air gates and soccer cones. Sleeping in tent and cr*pping in a hole in the ground. :D

A bit of history ..Luke joined the Webster Flyers www,websterflyers,co.uk 5 years ago when I taught him to fly fixed wing..it was obvious from the start that he had incredible confidence and ability ..he was soon on to helis but then majored on Quads and onto FPV ..he still comes regularly to our flying field and amazes members with his exceptional flying.

You'd hope they discussed how they planned to deal with prize money beforehand, so everyone knew what they were signing up for, but I'd also like to think the winner was going to get a better cut... for being the blinkin winner.
Like any sport, once you've got some proper form the balance of power can shift to reflect that. So I'm sure he'll see a nice payday in the near future.

Totally blown away with this. Well done Luke, its always good to have some positive press within our hobby. Although my hobby tends to run at a more sedate (some might say boring) pace :)
