I am not sure tbh, the way they did the qualifying was a bit strange.

The trouble is, as the sport is so new there is no perfect way to do quails/scoring yet.

People are trying to find a nice balance that rewards speed and consistency. At some events its been too heavy weighted towards consistency and you get boring races as people take it easy to ensure they complete the laps. Then you can end up with some one who was lucky or took it easy winning, when they are no where near the speed of the guys that crashed out.

Its hard as you want the tracks to be hard enough to be competitive, but easy enough that anyone can enjoy them self. The scoring to be fair, but not stop people pushing themselves.

There will always be an element of luck on the day I think, that just has to be accepted. Adds to the pressure of the race.  ;D

I was just saying about that in shout - I hope they've had a chance to practice with these things strapped on, they look quite significant in terms of size/weight/aerodynamics
