Agreed!

Can't believe how much under camber the 1.9 Skywalker has.    It should carry a shed load of weight!

Correct about the wing. I got in a thermal on Sunday and went from 100m to 400m in a heart beat. Only issue was not enough down elevator to slow down the lift so I had to power out down wind. Did you go with the 4s set up?  I am thinking of cutting in flaps.

I have set it so I can use 4 or 3 cell.   Will see which I prefer!

I have been in two minds on the flaps.  They just add more complexity - and need for another servo channel!

You could have gotten out the thermal by doing the age old - full up - full rudder

Two or three quick spirals :-)

Actually I rather enjoyed the ride! Did you have any problems getting the elevator free?  In the end I cut mine off and hinged it with Robart's and used blenderm  tape to seal the gap.  I also braced the tail with 2 CF struts to eliminate the "wobbles".  I changed the stock motor as it was noisy and had a lot of end float for this one http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=36820.  On 4s it pulls 30 amps on full throttle but has twice the watts of the stock motor.  I use this motor a lot on Autogyros with a 13 x 6 prop so with a 9 x 6 it is under no stress.  Actually flying wise I prefer the 168, it seems better balanced  with the longer ailerons and flat bottom wing.  The surprising flight characteristic is the tendency to tip stall, but as you are an experienced large glider man you will know why that happens and be prepared for it.

Mine wasntje base kit, so went for my own motors, ESC and prop combo.

The whole model (all the white) is skinned with glass tape.  No chance of any wobbles :)

My hinges are all stock, with some minor mods.

What I do is to flex it until if moves freely, then run a small amount of silicon down the hinge line to help keep things secure.

Hope to fly it in the next few says.  Maybe tonight if I am lucky!

Can I ask where you got your Skywalker Rob as I wrote mine off last year and fancy the 1.9 like yours but don't order from China anymore as I have been bitten twice now with import tax and Parcelfarce costs.
U K branch of Hobbyking don't seem to have that model .
Looks very nice B.T.W. Bud.

              Cheers  MIKE. :D
