That's all very useful information to me.....Today I ordered the Aeromax OSD and the suggested M8 GPS. My intention is to use it as a stand alone Navigation Aid with the new Runcam Mini Swift Camera. I currently use an old Skylark Tiny OSD and really like the simplicity of it, although I also have an APM and Minim.
Brill – I use Skylark stuff too – tracker and convert module. This is a bit cheaper than the Tiny, but is hugely configurable – which comes with it a learning curve. Both its strength and weakness. Its great for playing, tweaking and hacking.

MWOSD and the APP as it looks pretty easy to use.
OSD Ublox with Baud rate of 115k on the GUI

What is confusing, is that the APP allows you to load Arducam Firmware, which when loaded, wont work inside the very APP you loaded it with...??? I thought i had bricked it because after it just would not open the comm port.....Now I know why...LOL.
This is just how it works. The uploaders are generally dumb – they has no idea what is inside – so you can upload anything. Arducam GUI will not work with MWOSD and Viceversa. Never will!

Back inside the Minim Configurator had it sorted though, now it works again.  I think you need to address this as others will fall into this trap....it cant be just me who is stupid..lol.?
Yeah its' just you!!- Actually in 3 years this hasn't come up. But I understand why – Familiarity with how the arducam OSD's work. I need to pull together a transition doc.
I'm also having a just me issue at the moment with a build that is just driving me nuts...

PS...Why does it say "Disconnected" and those numbers etc under it???....I liked the event log too, that was useful to see what was happening.
Disconnected – bug. I never noticed that and its starring me right in the face.... It's supposed to show only when disconnected. I'll raise to the dev...
Numbers – some FC will send the GPS time and this is the display of that (used in some applications for time evidence... say no more). In drop down box, select GPS time and disable. It's currently not supported for UBLOX OSD

Thanks Shikira,

I realised the stupidity of loading unusable firmware using your APP...only after I had done it..lol...Maybe you can make it so only MWOSD Firmware files will load instead?

I do have an excuse, Im older, but not old...Looking forward to trying out the Aeoromax and that M8 gps...for a small, lightweight Navigator I can tailor.

Now I can get rid of that irritating GPS time clock too....Thanks for your help again....:)

No worries - I'm an old fart too. On the wrong side 50...

Unfortunately can't see whats in a hex file to verify its suitable to program.

Until this GUI release, only option was to compile and upload using Arduino!

I had another play with the APP  Today, its pretty easy to use really. One of the things that is a bit of a mystery to me is the big list of features in the drop down like rssi, FC Status, sats, direction pointer etc, etc....there is a small box which indicates if each feature is enabled or disabled....What I thought it would do is actually allow the user to enable or disable each feature, instead, it just indicates its status...?...How do you enable or disable a particular feature?...Some features you can enable, others you cant..?
I still managed to make a layout of my choosing, but some of its still a mystery....
