@teamftp  thanks for the video, had already watched that video..the guy had not tested it yet as it does not respond to the failsafe commands...as coyote correctly said in your failsafe you need abot 60% throttle plus the RTL COMMAND.

I soon realised its an RX function to have failsafe...So i plugged my RMILEC receiver and did as above..tested on the ground and works..havnt had the guts of testing in air though :-[

Yep fail safe is in the RX. At the end of the day that is the last place the signal is coming from when the TX looses contact.

It does take some balls to turn off when in flight. I did and pure cacked myself when I turned it off. However the fail safe worked fine and the FY31AP brought the Skywalker X8 in to a nice circling orbit above my head... Phew. Oh and came back to full control when I turned back on.

Well yeah it seems worth a try flicking the tx off and checking for function...however the rmilec lrs system takes about 5 secs to establish communication and that can be the difference between life and 1000usd lol..

Today i did my first flight with fy31ap...here is how it went

1.calibrated neutral position on ground and took off with manual

2.once high up flicked ABM  and wow.

3.next was ACM and worked wow

4.RTL and was smiling...

THENNNNN!!! while flying on ABM the plane suddenly started pitching down(losing altitude)
this turned into a violent spiral at 3/4 throttle

just managed to flick off the ABM and took manual control and saved the plane barely 50mts from ground :o

now that wasnt a good feeling...

My questions:

Say i am flying at 300mts altitude then i hit the ACM button....
1.Will the plane pitch down? or hold altitude?
2. if it decides to loose altitude,at what rate would it do it?
3. Is there aprogramable altitude for ACM?
4.what happens if i pitch down on ABM mode?
5.has the imbalance got something to do with my elevator travels? i have 15mm up and 15mm down

1) The plane will try to keep the altitude in all modes. It does not control its own altitude, just tries to keep it level.

2) If it looses altitude it will loose as little as possible.

3) No there is no programmable altitude height

4) Not a lot, your controls should be fairly dull and it will slowly loose height. If however you put it into a dive in ABM the plane will start pitching up and down violently. Never dive with ABM on.

5) If its pitching up and down too much it can be down to you have the gain set too high on your FY31AP or you are trying to dive the plane in ABM mode.
Or you have too much elevator throws. 
Or when you set your neutrals in mid air your FY31 was not level so the Autopilots constantly fighting itself because its known level and neutral are totally different.
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

Well it seems i have a deadly combination of the reasons you stated....

my gains are at 56-60% for elevator...I have high throws on elevator..and i might have tried to dive in ABM mode instinctively(cant remember doing so on purpose)

will further reduce the gains to 40% on elevator, reduce throws to 10mm up and 10mm down and try never to dive with ABM ON...

ONE MORE QUESTION
IS IT ADVISABLE TO USE THE THROTTLE CONTROL FROM THE FY31AP? I HEAR OF ALOT OF ISSUES ON THROTTLE
WHEN CONTROLLED BY FY31AP...DO YOU USE IT?

No problem :)

The issues with the throttle being used are down to certain ESC brands. If your ESC arms properly and works throughout the throttle range with no glitches then you won`t have any problems with it. The ESC that do have a problem are apparent immediately. The ESC arm sometimes, other not and it glitches the motor on the ground. 
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

I am currently using hobbyking 60A SBEC rated at 4A.

So i am on the internal BEC supplying my RX and fy31ap..(is it necessary to use external BEC?)

The issue regarding throttle control by fy31ap is in a stall or spin situation where the ground speed
will fall to zero...So the fy31ap will conviniently increase throttle on the spin to compensate for ground speed
ouch that can be bad. any views on that?

Is not necessary to use an external BEC, but you must disconnect the current sensors -ve wire of you have the dreaded ground loop.

If your plane ever enters a stall, no matter which Autopilot used you must disengage it because the Autopilot will make the spin much much worse, they do not understand a spin situation.

so i should remove the current sensors -ve wire? how will the current sensor be supplied by ground then?

No problem.

If your using an internal Bec then the Bec`s -ve wire is the return for the AP as the AP is linked to the receiver and the receiver to the Bec. Its a lengthy explanation which is well explained here by Ren : FPV-Japan : Ground loops explained

So if I am getting the right then this issue is only applicable to use of internal ESC/BEC?o remove the negetive pin on
in which case i would have the current sensor.

However if I wire an external BEC then i wont need to remove the -ve terminal on the current sensor?

That`s right, if you use an external Bec then disconnect the internal Bec`s -ve wire, that then breaks the ground loop

Which would mean that i would only use the signal wire from the the ESC.

As the positive and negetive is now being supplied by the external bec
