Hi,
Sorry for the newbish question, is there a way I could solder/mount 2 antennas (1 LX & 1 spironet) on my Boscam RC 832, that has only one antenna plug ?

Thanks !

Brucey

You could, but it wouldn't work. RF is a black art!

It is feasible to match two antennas but you need to really know what you are doing. Basically not possible unless you are an antenna expert.

There are some commercial designs like the sky hammer antenna which do this.

Jinglou

Ok, since I'm definitely not an expert (hence my question :) ), the solution would be to sell my Rx and buy a dual-channel one, right ? Like the diversity D58-2 for instance.

Coyote

Yes, much better. When your using a circular antenna anyway, adding another to it would pretty much mean using the same antenna and matching it which doesn't really give you an advantage worth using.

If you want a close range Skew and a longer range Helical then a diversity receiver is needed
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

Jinglou

Brilliant, wish I had investigated this before buying my Rx :)
Thanks so much everyone for the fast response and clear explanation !

It is possible make a diversity receiver from two single receivers.

See This thread for one way to do it. With this method your receivers will need a Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) output available though.
