Enjoyed the F-450 again, but jeeeeez it was cold. Can't wait for spring to kick in.  ;)

Hey Buster do not use the plastic DJI props !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you fly with large gear, gimbal and all that. The DJI props are to flimsy and can (will) break up on you someday.....and will ruin that day. So don't fly with them heavy, i.e. with gear and gimbal but use the Graupner or other carbon props.

Will the standard props really not carry the f450 with a gimbal and FPV gear?? :o

I have heard lots of horror stories, so I am not trying it. They look very flimsy if you compare them with the Graupners.

i really like the self tightening props which make it easy to take them off for packing away. What do you think of these:

They are very nice Adam, I think I order a set as a spare set. They have them now on gooluckbuy.com for 15 USD and free shipping  :P I use lock nuts now on the Graupner blades.

Thanks that  :) Do you have any idea what the carbon props on ebay are like? this guy seems to have sold a lot of these but they are quite cheap. Just wondering if I'm paying for quality or brand name when buying the DJI reinforced props:

I have no idea. I only trust my 450, gimbal and HD cam to Graupners, I have good experience with those props and by using lock nuts I am not afraid that they will come off. I will try the DJI self locking carbons, but if I don't like the feel of them they are gone 😉

Do they feel tough? please let me know your thoughts on them once you've tested them, and then I might make a purchase.
have some karma for answering all my questions  :)

Thanks Adam, I will let you when I have them. I am now busy with my X-8 made the first flight of this year with the beast and going to upgrade the FY-31 for a MFD AP. As for the Graupners props they are nice and stif and good balanced.

thanks  :) Yeah i saw your X8, looks cool!
My main problem with the Graupners is removing them each time I put the quad in the bag I have for it. The self tightening ones just come off in seconds without a tool.

It was a very gusty day today, but they still delivered 10 minutes of flight time (each), will be more on a calm day. I am happy.

Hi mate, is your landing gear quite heavy? I'm using 5000 mAh packs, and i'm getting just over 15min flight time out of each... and that's with the FPV gear being powered too.

No, not at all. I use MultyStar 4S 6600mAh lipos from Hobby king, they are 5c and give me 15 / 20 minutes and it is powering the FPV gear to. Flight time depends on flying style  :P
