Re the CNCs, think you've got the timelines a bit messed up. I bought my first CNC from Gordon here almost 2yrs ago... I need to get around to selling it actually.

The CNC I am using now is a considerably more powerful beast (X6-1500GT) with much bigger stepper motors, ballscrews etc and a larger working area. To give you an idea of the difference, the spindle for the old CNC was a 100W proxxon router, on the current CNC it's a 1.5kw liquid cooled brushless spindle...

It is 05:10 am and I have just sat and read all 43 pages of this amazing thread and I am speechless.
I was feeling quite pleased with myself having just built my first FPV ship and then I saw this thread and suddenly my plane looks like one of those 20p gliders you buy from the newsagents.
Zeeflyboy I am in awe at your skill, ingenuity and imagination. I almost think I should ground myself and take up stamp collecting, I mean how can a m mere mortal compare to this.
Keep up the great work Im looking forward to the next posting with baited breath.

Hi guys,

sorry for the lack of updates but the project has been shelved the past couple of months as I get settled in and get some DIY projects in the new house out of the way.

Next week I hope to sort the garage out a bit and then I can start doing some work on the mechanics again with a bit of luck... I am looking forward to starting up again!

Just in case anyone is interested, you may or may not be aware of another little project of mine called the Vortex (think I mentioned it briefly in this thread). Anyway that project is now near completed and commercialised via immersionRC, production should finally start later this month... it's a small quad with fully integrated electronics - 5.8GHz Vtx, Flight controller, OSD, current sensor. OSD even allows you to change vTX channel or tune PID's from the menu.

Anyway I thought I'd mention it as you can now see the pic up on immersionRC's website:
