Hi all,
Just bought a ezuhf tx and 8ch lite rx. I bought a cable from ready made rc so I can use it with my dx8. The problem is it want bind I don't know if its the dx8 that's causing the problem or not. I've set the dx8 on slave master and it still want bind. After I press the bind button on the rx the led goes out and flashes six times then stops on. In the manual it says there is no ppm mode.
Any help on this would be great

You need to have your dx8 off when connected to EZUHF & in slave mode (I think)

But seriously I wouldn't use a dx8 with EZUHF.

I did & it didn't go well. The EZUHF is really sensitive to the ppm stream the dx8 just can't provide a good enough connection with its headphone jack on the rear, I tested x2 & on both the tiniest movement or nudge on the trainer plug & the whole thing would just go ape shit, it resulted in a big crash!!

Cheers for the advice Flynn. I would it be better to go for futaba if I'm going to use ezuhf. I have look at futaba t10cp don't know if these are any good.

No probs mate, some people have been lucky with it so far but even Sander advises against dx8 & ezuhf.

I went out & bought myself a Futaba 9c from the bmfa classifieds for just over £100, was in great condition & is the best radio for ezuhf - t10cp would prob work....

Totally with Flyn on this one, don`t use a DX8 with one
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

Cheers coyote,
Any recommendation?

Futaba 7, 9 or a Turnigy 9x / 9xr for a cheaper option

Ratty

Ive been using my EZ with a Dx8 for over a year with zero issues.

God must love me.  ;D

Why? EzUHF has a pre amp on the ppm in.. Me and Ratty both use 8's with EzUHf and neither of us have had problems? I've been several km with my Ez too not a single glitch EVER.. I did how ever have loads of problems with dragonlink.

It's not so much a problem with the radio but with the interface to the dx8 - the 3.5mm jack.

I tested x2 different dx8s & both times the I could get the ezuhf to enter a hunting failsafe where the ezuhf would bounce from full travel to failsafe position & back again for upto 30 seconds even after the jack disturbance had ended.

This is possibly due to ppm signal corruption &/or loss all be it however temporary.

This could be achieved purely by nudging, bumping or brushing the 3.5mm jack in the dx8's trainer port. It would seem a lot of dx8's have this issue when used with a ezuhf which will make your ezuhf flip the fuk out & crash your plane just like in the above video.

Use dx8's at your own risk!

The radio itself works fine - mine did for a few flights but in the end the combination came unstuck - the link between the dx8 & ezuhf is not stable enough for reliable flight control.

Don't believe me - ask immersion rc ;)

If you could change the 3.5mm jack for a Futaba trainer plug or have it hard wired I'm sure it would be fine.

Also on a side note, there has been a lot of talk about the dx8's lack of sufficient rf shielding when the ezuhf is close to the TX & the ezuhf is on full power, you'll get erratic stick movements on the monitor screen - in some cases. Never experienced this myself though.

Maybe just yours is toss? Me and Rat have hundreds of perfect flights between us.

I tested 2 mate plus there is a ton of other people who have the exact same issue, a quick search of FPVLab will prove that, I even spoke to Sander about this & he thinks its a REALLY bad idea to use DX8s. The connection is not good enough IN MOST CASES, of course there'll be exceptions, but for a TX manufacture to turn round & say DO NOT use this radio with our EZUHF has go to say something no....?

Either way I'm done using spektrum for FPV. Moved to futaba with EZUHF & FRSKY modules - much better!

Weather mine is toss or not is really not the issue, oh & 10/10 for tact btw... ;)

In just presenting the other side of the coin.. There is far to much doom mongering on these forums.

Yeah I know mate, FairPlay ;)

I'm saying in most cases it's not a good idea as it may cost you a plane, I'm not trying to doom monger the issues but in a lot of cases dx8's & ezuhf don't play that well together, & while it can certainly be done as you, ratty & myself (apart from my fail) have proven, my advise would be to use a Futaba handset.

What I'm getting at is if you're gonna use ezuhf on a unknown dx8 it may well work perfectly, but theres a equal chance it may work intermittently like mine did, it just comes down to if you'd like to take the risk or not, mine cost me a plane & thankfully not my fpv gear.

You pays your money & you take your chances, I just thought it would be best to inform people of the potential issues, as it felt crap to loose my plane like that in the video - being in the driving seat with no control & perfect video & to just have to sit there & watch it go in.

I was just trying to inform others so they won't loose an aircraft to this potentially serious issue without being informed of their chances.
