Hi All,

This weekend (Saturday May 4th) I will be meeting a few FPV pilots at Postbridge in the south of Dartmoor, Devon for a FPV sesh. So far there are only three of us but I was just seeing if anyone on  here would also be interested in meeting up on that day. We are meeting at 12pm at the visitors centre in Postbridge (on google maps search for "Postbridge, Devon PL20") and then the local pub for food and/or drink :)

It should be a great day and stunning weather

Here is a video from my last visit to that area:

Please let me know if you are interested in popping along  ;D

Rick

Sorely tempted to have a run up from Truro but think I'm going to be tied up on Saturday.  If not I may just appear and say hello. Be great to meet up with some fellow fpv'ers.

Thanks for throwing out the invite!

Rick

Hi! I managed to write-off my old Bixler last Sat  :(. Fortunately my new Bixler 2 arrived this week from HK  :D- so yes, I up for it - should have the new set-up ready to go Look forward to meeting up on Dartmoor.

Baner

I hope to come to will catch a ride of the frequency9 :)

JAB1a

Oh no Frequency9 and Baner, I did not see your posts until now.... I am surprised I did not see you there, it was a great day of flying with some gusty wind at points but great fun was had, Also the Plume of Feathers pub was nice and quite that day aswell.

Next time Gadget!  ;D

Me and frequency9 turned up a bit late, but we looked at the area and thought it was only good for multi rotors lovely area, but not good for fixed wing at the moment we are not flying multi rotors if the weather is good. Later on, let's try and arrange a place to fly.

JAB1a

Hi Baner, sorry to hear that, if I knew fixed wings were going to be there then we would of picked a better spot.

How about next time we go to Yelverton Aerodrome (ex RAF Harrowbeer), its a huge open area that's easy to get to from the A38 and is perfect for fixed wing or Multi's, plenty to look at and investergate via FPV aswell.

Bring on the good weather!

Hi Dizzy. I don't know. I've never been there perhaps JAB1a, he might now I will have a chat to frequency9 and see if we can pick a good day. It may be spur of the moment job. :run:

Cheers guys it was just a thought for hand launched planes not much room needed tbh just a clear path down really but we both have plateforms too so no real issues there :D

I,m still thinking of the old airfield at bodmin moor i think there is still lots of concrete hard standings there plus the air museum too so i been told :D
I will look into that one its prob in the middle area of Cornwall so may attract a few from around this area :)

regards to all

Hi!

I've been flying RC for years but am completely new to FPV and would love to tag along on one of your get-togethers to get a 'feel' for it?

I'm just outside of Truro so can get to anywhere Cornwall/Devon with ease. I don't have any FPV gear yet, tho after weeks of reading I'm itching to hit the 'buy' button but it would be great to see something first hand.

Thanks

Chris

Hi! I've done a reci at Davidstow airfield, on the edge of Bodmin - I think this is the place you were thinking about Dizzy? It was too gusty to fly the day I went down there, but there is plenty of concrete strip left there for ground take-offs, some great views down to the coast at Tintagil, a lake and some beautiful moor to explore FPV, so I'd be up for a meet there. Its quite exposed, so a quiet day is essential.
