well, as i'm still learning to fly my quad, i decided to get to know some fpv kit on the ground. so i've ordered some stuff from simon dale which i'll set up on my buggy, (the one i drove at the northern meet). i'm starting with a screen, as i need to put the rx on a pole to help reduce fresnel zone interference. so it'll be a simple ground station, (antenna/rx, screen, battery, pole of some sort). i'm a bit concerned about the tx overheating, but i'll have a look in my electonics box and or maplins for a small heatsink. i'll see the dog from his level as i chase him round the garden! got to get a smaller motor pinion as well, these electric buggies do 15 to 20 miles an hour!! a bit fast for fpv.
OMG, IT FLIES!

got the kit from simon. now i need to get the tx boxed, you wouldn't believe how much c^%p gets in the works. i'll use an aluminium project box so i can fasten the tx to the inside. i found an old 7805 in my bits box, so that's on a bit of strip board with a servo lead to connect to a splitter which will take power from the balance lead, (got a lipo for it,more duration), this will also go in the box. now got to set up a board with the other few bits to make the tx work. then i'll have to cut the body a bit to let the tx mushroom stick up at the back. the back bumper assembly looks good to fasten the box to.

Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

I'd use CP antennas too as you'll get a load of multipathing if you use rubber ducks

got a ultra mini condenser mike, to find out what sound is like. maybe should have just got submini, ever tried soldering two wires onto something 6mm o/d with a 25 watt iron with 5mm wide tip!! must find my small iron and/or get a smaller bit for the 25 watt.

just seen the 120 day warning. life's been a bit chaotic recently, so my fpv stuff has sat in it's boxes. now starting to do a little in the evenings. fpv kit is nearly done in the buggy, (quad is coming on as well). got a deck in the buggy, this has a mount for a small servo. now making up a bracket to mount the 2 gram camera on. then i'll cut a little hole in the cab roof to see through. found out that the tx module needs amplified sound, so i got one of simon dales sound modules. :D

had a larf today. got the strada out on the lawn, FPV. put a mix on the pan so it follows the steering. most impressed when i drove down my drive and turned in front of the bungalow, i was round the back! not many yards away, but a whole building between it and me.
OMG, IT FLIES!

This sounds like fun, what does your pet think of it then?

That looks like fun!

I've got a Traxxas Slash that I converted into a monster truck. It has a mamba max power system that is good for 40mph+ and wheelies like crazy.

It has been sitting in the garage since I got into planes, but having seen a couple of threads on FPV rc cars I've dusted it down and am going to set it up with FPV gear.

I'll start a topic and add some pics as I go.
