Loads of cool FPV stuff on our Facebook Group, like it today:

I had them and to be honest they are not strong enough, had one bad landing and all four legs split at the mount. I think its the material or the 3d printing process that nakes them weaker than moulded stuff .
Just my experience.

Oh really. How heavy are they?

robshaw100

I've had these. I broke them on first slightly heavy landing. He makes them light by reducing the density but it also makes them weaker. The be fair to Peter tho I suggested he improved the strength of them and he sent me a new stronger version for free. Very quick post too considering coning from Sweden. Got to be honest tho I don't use them anymore as the foot print is a bit small. Nice idea tho.
Gimbal works well too but I don't like mounting my gopro without protective case so I stopped using that too.
I just bought some 8mm carbon fibre tube from eBay for about £7 cut into I think 120mm lengths and put rubber instrument case feet on the ends all cable tied to 450 legs. Works well.

I will drop him a message. He got a 3D printer?

robshaw100

This is the strengthened version.

I've had it fitted briefly and managed to not break it but like I said the foot print was a bit small for my liking so I removed them.

I got some of these skids (only the much shorter ones) for my QAV500.  They seem really nice, quite springy but tough feeling plastic.  They would be easy enough to fit to 450 arms with some cable ties or whatever.

This is the gimbal on my 450 set up to stabilise my gopro.

Is that the sake setup from that guy? I thought his set only let the camera go up and down? How did u add that on?

robshaw100

Its his standard setup. Just plugged the servo into the gimbal output of my crius aiop instead of a spare receiver output and just controlling it on a pot from the transmitter.  Its up to you. He uses to control the tilt for shooting directly down.

JezUK1

So you can't look down as u have it working as a gimbal?

robshaw100

No I can't. But its just a case of plugging it into a spare RX channel and assigning to a pot to make that happen.
