I got my Skywalker from FPV Hobby in Turkey, 5 days to my house not bad.

Anyway, this will be more of a pictures build than a full length write up, I always believe a picture is worth a thousand words.

In the bird will be a Wasp 3536 1100 motor with a 10 inch prop, not sure if this motor is up to the mark, picking motors has always been my downfall so I had this motor lying around so thought I would give it a fair go!!!

I'm gonna use 5000mah 3 cell turnigy lipos from our fav Chinese hobby retailer, not my favorite shop but hey ho.

Emax 8 gram Servo ES08A all round, heard some good things about these so thought would give them a try.

45 or 60 amp esc, and the trusty Corona with the 1/2 wave extension courtesy of his holiness, Shikra.

For the fpv gear, will be using the airwave TX connected to the Easyosd (might use the Blackstork off the Twinstar, dunno yet) which will be linked to a bev rc 480 osc cam,
Dont have a Gopro and dont think I will (£250 + strapped to a toy plane etc) but will be getting a Sony Webbie from argos £105 at the mo and more like it

Please note as well, this is gonna take some time, I do have a day job as well, also any help and constructive criticism welcomed

Anyway here are the obligatory out of the box snaps

Great looking plane Simon, im tempted to get one, its so much bigger than the EZ, takes much bigger lipos and weight.

The general oppinion on motor wise is 9*6 as best, with various kv between 1200 and 1500. From what i understand.

Looking forward to watching it manifest :)
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

Badlands

Cool project Simon - after seeing a Skywalker up close i put it on my want list straight away.

With a p&t GoPro it would get some awsome footage.

A sony webbie can be got for around £40 on ebay - i just gutted mine to reduce the weight.

good luck with the build.
It's all a lot of simple tricks and nonsense...

Little more done
The hinges are not the best to be fair and defo need some tape on them to reinforce them, if you have an easystar or anything really from multiplex, the hinges are similar to them but worse, the rudder however was fine so left alone
I also added the blind nut mounts for the nose and tail and the carbon strip for the tail.
I have looked further into the motor and have seen a one at Giantcod which I think will be up for the job

I totally here you there, multiplex hinges are rubbish, same with the Axn,. Tape them up and they are miles better. They look well.

Whats your first overall impressions on the skywalker, its size build quality etc ?

1st impressions are good TBH with you mate, nice solid foam, a little different to the multiplex elapor but not as harsh as EPP,
The first thing to strike you though is the cavernous space in the thing, cant wait to put my sons pet tortoise in the thing (JOKE) but seriously it's huge, will carry my gear no probs
The transfers could have had a bit more attention when applying though, maybe there were done on a Friday afternoon, I did try to peel off the tail ones and redo but it started to rip so just left it, wont see them anyway when flying

Im thinking of loosing the EZ for one, for a airframe that carries all the bells whistles and a huge lipo it looks like it ticks all the boxes.

Im going to wait and see how yours turns out then i think ill be buying myself after the stealth wing :)

Did a bit more today,
Hot glued the servos for the rudder and elevator,
Also, used the supplied glue for the carbon rod to stick on one side of the fuse, the glue is really good to be fair, just apply to both surfaces and allow to dry until just very slightly tacky and then join, et voila, really good bond, just sand the rod to take the shiny surface off first
I also run the supplied extensions through the rod

Love the festive workbench covering LoL
EasyStar, Skywalker V2, X8, Zephyr II, FPVraptor, Spidex, ZMR250, DG300. Eagle Tree stuff.

Badlands

Coming along very nicely - are all Skywalkers made equal? i mean ive seen some that are blank, just white foam but this one is coloured with stickers out of the box?
