HELP! - ESC or Motor issues?

20 seconds into video...

So,

I was flying around with my Skywalker 1900 today and having a great time, zipping about with no problems....then after about 10 minutes my plane started making a wired noise.... could someone please help me diagnose this....

Is this the ESC or the Motor?

1) The battery was a 5000mAh and when I landed still had more than 50% in it...
2) The ESC and Motor are stock Skywalker from BevRC

I was flying mostly 50-60% throttle, when I powered up to about 90% this started happening, if I powered down again it went away till I went back up to 90%..

The OSD was reporting about an 8-10A current pull....it's a fairly accurate OSD.

Thoughts?

I`ve not heard that exact thing before, but first port of call is your ESC, your motor sounds fine, its either ESC or your throttle channel is pulsing

Loose prop adapter, or the motor shaft turning (grub screw not tight) ?

Just a thought from the wat the revs were going up and down, if not then the esc.

I've heard that before :) a large motor with insufficient load will do that ..

What are the motor and prop specs?

I believe it's a 960Kv motor and a 9x6 APC prop....it was the recommended power combo from bevrc.

Is the prop secured properly? Sounded like it was slipping to me causing the motor to spin up without any load.

Also how big is the motor?

If its quite large (nice heavy casing) then that prop will be a bit too small for the amount of torque that motor can produce and it may over-rev.. I'm not sure what the exact terminology is :D but I've had it before when using a largish EMAX 920kv motor and a 9x6 prop..  Recommended prop was 12x7 or something crazy :D

Again had the same issue on my old Flymentor when I tried to use a Turnigy G32 and a 10" prop :)

Other people have the same one I believe and are ok...I've ordered a new ESC just to be sure, if it still happens then I can certainly by a bigger prop :)

What prop do you need Keukpa, I have a couple of 10x5's

Think I'll try the new ESC first steve....MarkLincs has the same setup with no problems....failing that I'll pester you to see what you have :)
