if you make the bottom plate 2 sided copper pcb you can solder an sma connector directly to it + it acts as the reflector . I've got an autocad drawing of the one i made somewhere at home if your interested.

files attached below . have done a "how to" pdf,  as long as you print it off 100% scale then just stick it onto your pcb sheet + fiberglass sheet and cut it out. all the sizes are for 1.5mm copper wire and mid way in 5.8ghz frequency range we use.
