Sorry to keep posting, but before I forget...

Usually I've seen clovers used on the tx with skews on the rx, does it make any real difference? Is the skew higher gain or something?

Also, is it pointless to use the skew tx with a 8dbi patch rx? I've done that before and it worked OK, but obviously not as good as a helical will be. My eventual setup will be diversity with a skew and helical on the rx with a skew on the tx.

You'll get better multipath rejection from two skews tather than a clover/skew combination
A patch will certainly get you further than two skews but not 360 degree signal unless of course you use a tracker, however saying that, octane in Norway got 10k just using my skews on 2.4, the vids on the first page

So my courier pigeon (wife) made it back form the UK with my new aerials. Cant wait to try them but looks like its going to be blowing dogs off chains this weekend.

My FPVing went a bit cold for a while until I revised my fleet. From a Bixler to a FX61 and a mini quad throw in. Had a heap of changes going on and new bits and pieces everywhere.
So started flying my New FX61 and was getting 300m before my video was getting unusable. Went out the next weekend with all my spare bits I could find. Fist change was my new set of cheap Chinese Skews to my old set of cheap Chinese Skews. Sure enough 1.3km straight up. So cant wait to test some decent ones. :-)

Anyway so looking at my nice new Bignose13 ones I notice they are all 4 leaf. I thought there was meant to be 3 leaf at one end and 4 at the other. Cant remember which way around. Im sure they are right just curious as thought they had to be different.

Ah no mate
They are skews both end, you'll get far better multipath rejection with two skews rather than skew/clover combo
