After some Motor Advice on my FPV Quadcopter.

Hi all.

Im giving an FPV Quad a go, but am not sure what motors to mount on it.

Thus far i have ordered this Frame. (aprox 450 size.)

I cannot decide on a suitable motor though, others i know who fly quads say "stick to 28mm cans for less weight" while others say 35mm cans are better.. Can anyone advise me to a suitable motor selection for using on my chosen frame??

Buy a decent quality motor you can get parts for ... especially when starting off.. as broken / bent shafts etc will be common.. also get motors will bolt on prop adapters.. SunnySky 221-11 900kv would be fine..

40amp ESC's are huge for what you need.. 30a would still be more than enough...but would give you some scope for upgrades.. would recommend SimonK ESC's..  you could run 4s lipos on that frame..

Don't buy carbon re-enforced props.. they are very poor.. either full carbon or plastic.. if your starting off.. stick with plastic props.. prop size will be dependent on the KV, power of motors and weight of quad..   when starting off.. go for smallest size recommended.. as will be more locked in...

These are good, slightly higher kv than the DJI ones. so more lift for FPV gear. I would recommend using using 1045's props with them. £7 each bargain  :D

Went with 8x 1045 Plastic slow fly props from hobbyking, and 4 of those Hobbyking hacker style motors you linked.
