Naza -m Lite - take off question

Hi folks,

When taking off a multirotor with a Naza-m lite controller, is the take off like the Naza V2, in that the motors spool up, but it will not lift off until the throttle stick is advanced beyond 50%?  Or is it like the old Naza v1 where as the throttle is progressively increased, the prop rpm progressively increases too?

I'm just trying to decide between the v2 and lite versions for a FPV F330 quad...

Just did a test.

- CSC - then the props spin slowly (not all of them!)
- proportional throttle now changes rpm proportionally
- I get lift off around 60%

If I flick the switch to manual, the hover point raises a fair bit - i.e. she drops and I have to apply more throttle.

Here you go - the shortest hover ever! (used an old retired battery - had to be quick!)

I purposefully coarsely ramped up the throttle so you can hear I have control.

Cut off is fairly instant (CSC induced cut off - both sticks down and to corners)

I found the Lite doesn't have the auto take off feature which is both a pain and a positive :) when you want to take off quickly (like the vid above) its useful to have full control *but* the auto-takeoff feature is so damn good its a pleasure to use when your in the goggles :)

With my goggles on I apply throttle (in Atti mode), and the second it's off the ground I flick onto GPS mode so I have time get settled.

What did the auto take off mode do? (apart from the obvious - take off, automatically :-p )

How come you don't take off in GPS mode?

With auto take off you just the throttle to 1/2 stick and it lifts off super smoothly and then hovers.

My Naza V1 doesn't take off until throttle is past 50%.  I assume you are talking about Atti/GPS ?

Unless I'm mistaken, which is quite likely, mine won't arm in GPS mode.

I'd hope you're mistaken because that isn't a 'standard feature'  :laugh:

Nope - just tried - will only arm the escs in Atti mode. Manual or GPS mode and it won't arm. I can't force a throttle shut down in either of those modes either. I can't see anything in my radio... hmmmm.....

Edit: scratch that - found some D/R in GPS mode just on ele! removed. And found I'd put 80% D/R on ele and ail  in manual mode. Doh! - going to replace that with expo in manual mode . No need for anything in the other 2 modes.
