If you use OpenLRSng you don't need any experience in uploading, there's a Google Chrome plugin that connects to your TX and updates it for you.

You'll need a FTDI dongle to do the updates, like the Sparkfun one which has the correct pin layout and voltage.

I use the DTFUHF tx / rx from www.dtfuhf.com.

Be careful with using 1W OpenLRS in the UK though, the creator of OpenLRSng claims the power settings don't actually do anything:
