I just looked at this site with Google satellite imagery.
Although it may be interesting for some slow quad flying, the fixed wing models would be unsuitable due to the proximity of all the surrounding buildings in my opinion.

After being out with these guys yesterday Paul you will need a BIG area for the wings especially. 100km/h plus yesterday!!

How about bradgate park.? Plenty of space and we could pitch up in a quiet are.
Some videos of the place here https://vimeo.com/user23124370

There is a group of flyers who do slope soaring at Bradgate, not sure is it a club or a bunch of friends. Many years ago I took a glider and joined them for a day, they were a friendly bunch. The slope lift is not great, lots of walking, so they would want a windy day and we don't.

I am happy to try Bradgate but suggest on arrival we make sure that, if they are there, they are all using 2.4 for RC.

I'd be interested in a bradgate park meet, lots of open space and soft 'landings' available. I have seen the slope soarers in action, looked like a lot of fun. Early morning or evening to avoid the crowds?

I fly there regular and the slopers generally use either 35mhz or 2.4, they're friendly enough even if some of them do try and scare FPV'ers off by saying the "rangers don't like electrics!!" which isn't true.
