That really does fly nice, my wallet won't like that and yes, stick a little camera on it even if just to record the flight in LOS.

Beware the Hun in the sun!
brilliant video.

I have just brought a Hobbyking Spitfire & am worried about crashing (obviously - I am very new to the hobby) and noticed that your props seem to be flexible?
or was I seeing things?  if so where did you source them from?  these could save me hours!!

cheers,

Granpaw Jonah

Hi Irosm... ta for that.. I use HM spinners on all my 'Chuckers', if you scroll down the page on the link to near the bottom, you'll see HM spinners white and HM spinners carbonlook. They come in a variety of cone diameters and different diameter shaft fitting.

I haven't found these spinners anywhere else...
Then I buy folding props from hobby king, or else where if they're cheaper ...

I really do like the way that fly's GJ, I've got one of them De Agostini spits that I bought in a job lot, seeing the 109 really makes me wanna get it finished & fly it, just gotta sort out suitable elec motor & esc any ideas?

Granpaw Jonah

Hey........ Irosm... not sure about that spinner, it doesn't give a spinner diameter does it... I can't see it... er... I don' know what size shaft yer Spit motor will have..careful mate.... :-\

Charlie... how big's the De-Agostini?? .40 size??  If so, then a 4260 size motor... 6-800 kv, 15-16 x 6 prop & 60-80A esc and 3-5000mAh 5-6s lipo...  I like the turnigy Aerotech motors. I've found them reliable & powerful....

GJ, you must know the one, it's the one that came in weekly bits, wing spars one week, ribs the next, etc etc probably cost £600 - £700 , anyway it's 56" normal balsa build up designed for a .40 glow motor............ I stiil cant get to grips with elec motors 15 - 16" prop on an electric motor seems weird! but I'm not to old to take advice mate!  I suddenly thought............ someone on here got given one of them a while back & they where going to FPV it, I'll have to do some digging to see if I can find that thread & see how they got on.       Anyway I'll let you know how it goes ( gotta build a new shed first).

Hey Char....just gone into my diary...  my FW190 has... 4260 aerotech, 500kv. 80a 'plush' esc. prop is 16 x 6. I have a 4000mAh 25-50c 6s lipo. This flies this 'plane extremely well. I used the same set up on a VQ models Hurricane and a VQ models MIG 3, both were exceptional on that set up. Below... vid of .40 size FZ190a...

With all my conversions I've found the nitro tank area converts easily to accommodate a 6 cell lipo and often more..... ;)

The 190 goes well, same as the 109 mate, bet you were proud of that one, I've made a note of the tech info & will work around that,
just as a matter of interest any idea what the weights & spans are of the 109 & 190 with or without elec's,
would give me a target to aim for.

Granpaw Jonah

Yeah Charlie... they are very different size airframes/setups.
The Messerschmitt 109 is a 48 inch wingspan with a 3548 Turnigy gold motor. 900kv, 60a plush esc, 12 x 6 folding prop. 3s 3300-4000mAh 25-50C lipo........... an alternative set up could be a 3542, 1250k motor, 60a esc & 10 x 6 prop which gives more immediate throttle response........either set up with a good efficient motor should give >600 watts
  Folke Wolf 190 is 58 inch wing span ( a .40 size model ) with the 4260, 500 kv motor, 80A esc, 6s lipo & 16 x 6 prop....something over 1000w? Can't remember, but it's superior to a .40 size nitro..  Rip those wings off!!
