Took her out today winds 30 mph, gusts upto 60+

She was like a balloon bobin around in the sky, good fun though.

This is a good example of when not to fly your k-quad or any quad at all  lol:

Extreme weather flying

She flies very stable indoors, just need some decent weather to
get some quality footage  ;D

That does fly well. I couldn't quite make out who's underwear you were waving at the start of the video. Yours?

EasyStar, Skywalker V2, X8, Zephyr II, FPVraptor, Spidex, ZMR250, DG300. Eagle Tree stuff.

ADY G, I have the same motors as you, but the holes on the arms don't appear to line up with the motor holes?

Hole spacing on the motors is only 12.4mm

Did you have to increase the size of the slots on the arms to make them fit? Was there enough material left on the arm between the slot and the centre hole?

Cheers...

yes I just  opened  the slots out by a mil or so
still enough material just.
if you find your close you could just put a micro washer on.

Frame arrived a short while ago, as did the motors, ESCs, and props. Stuck now for barrel connectors.
I ordered some from Deal extreme, but I expect that they are caught up in the new year holiday. So being impatient I have just ordered some from UK HK.
I can see the problem with the motors and the slots on the arms. I will have to extend the slots and also countersink, as the screws supplied with the motors are too short.
The other option is to make a ply or plastic base for the motors and then attach to the arms. Got to think on this.

Could someone please measure the motor mount holes pkease so I can decide on some motors?
Qav250's fx2206 2000 sold out and the 1806 2400's sold out :(

These fit:

you can only get 2 bolts in,which is good enough.

Hovers at 40% throttle on 3s running 5x3 props.

The mount holes themselves are 2mm x 4mm each, as they are elongated circles the diagonal for mount is between 12mm-21mm (outer edges of elongated circle). There is a central circle to allow some motors to recess in and this circle is 8mm diameter. Hope this helps.

I got a set of those ^ and I must be being a little dense but how exactly does the prop-saver doohickey work? The shaft doesn't protrude from the end of the motor casing at all so how is it supposed to hold a prop on?

What props you using, they should fit tight around the circle in the middle using reducers,my 5x3 HQ props have a 5mm bore hole, had to insert a reducer to make it smaller.

Also to make them easier to get on and off change the 10mm m2.5 screws for some 5mm m2.5,otherwise the rubber rings are a pain to get on.
